Job Description Village Square Veterinary Hospital is growing, and we are seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician to become the next member of our Portola Valley team! While we primarily care for cats and dogs, our location in Portola Valley is known for its equestrian trails and animal-loving community, making this a special place for those who enjoy a rural, pet-centered lifestyle. You will play a key role in delivering exceptional patient care during exams, outpatient visits, surgical procedures, and dentistry. Your responsibilities will include preparing animals for surgery, monitoring anesthesia, performing dental prophies, and providing thorough client education with professionalism and compassion. This role is ideal for technicians who want to fully utilize their skills in both outpatient and surgical settings while also enjoying meaningful client engagement and the satisfaction of working with a supportive, close-knit team. This is a full-time position with a 4/10 schedule and availibility needed Monday-Friday. Full-time benefits and compensation**: • Compensation: $35-38 per hour, for each hour worked*, • Bonus package: $2000, • CE allowance: up to $1,000 annually based on tenure, • Health package: Medical, dental, and vision insurance (United Healthcare or Kaiser Permanente), • Life insurance, disability and 401k options, • Employee Assistance Program, • Personal pet discount for up to 4 pets, • Paid time off in accordance with site policy and applicable law, • PTO policy starting at 104 hours annually with 6 paid holidays Minimum qualifications and skill set: • 3+ years of veterinary experience in a clinical setting, • Current Registered Veterinary Technician license in the state of California, • Proficiency in the following skills:, • Venipuncture and cystocentesis, • Placing IV catheters and administering injections, • Anesthetic induction and monitoring, • Dental charting, prophy, polishing and radiographs, • In house laboratory processing including cytology About Village Square Veterinary Hospital: We are a well-established multi-doctor general practice offering the highest quality of medicine to small animals in our community.
