Job Description:\n\nPosition Summary\nThe Business Systems and Quality Analyst defines business and functional requirements, authors effective and actionable user stories, and plans and executes the validation phase of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for systems and digital experiences used by Credit Union of Texas members and team members. Acting as a subject matter expert across front-end and back-end systems, the role partners with business stakeholders, vendors, project teams, and leadership to translate business needs into well-specified, well-tested products that align to CUTX product vision and business objectives. The role applies strong analytical, technical, and communication skills, and uses CUTX-approved AI and analytics tools to accelerate requirements analysis, test design, and defect triage while preserving human-in-the-loop accountability on all member-impacting outputs.Key ResponsibilitiesRequirements Definition & User Story Development\n\n Work with stakeholders across business units to understand needs and document business requirements with clarity and traceability.\n Interpret and translate business requirements into functional specifications and current- and future-state business process diagrams.\n Author user stories and acceptance criteria that drive product development and align deliverables to product vision and business objectives.\n Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and acceptance criteria reviews within an Agile/SCRUM delivery model.\nQuality Assurance & Test Execution\n\n Plan and execute all aspects of the validation phase of the SDLC, including creation of the full test suite (test plan, scenarios, and cases).\n Test products, systems, and software to ensure they are defect-free and meet CUTX quality standards and end-user expectations.\n Design and execute project test suites across front-end and back-end components, including customer-facing digital applications.\n Use automated testing tools and frameworks where applicable to improve test coverage, efficiency, and repeatability.\n Apply SQL skills to query, analyze, and validate data integrity across systems.\nSystems Subject Matter Expertise\n\n Serve as a subject matter expert on front-end and back-end systems used by CUTX, providing guidance and insights.\n Document, troubleshoot, and resolve system errors, escalating complex issues and partnering the Symitar Episys core banking application is a plus.\n Agile/SCRUM experience, specifically in user story and acceptance criteria development and participating in sprint planning.\n Prior experience The Business Systems and Quality Analyst retains accountability for any decision, communication, or member/employee-impacting action influenced by AI output, consistent with the CUTX Generative AI Usage Policy §3.4.\nThe Business Systems and Quality Analyst is required to:\n\n Apply human-in-the-loop review on every AI-generated user story, acceptance criterion, test case, defect summary, and member-impacting artifact after it is committed, executed, or released.\n Stop reliance on AI output and escalate immediately if the output appears inaccurate, biased, non-compliant, or outside the role's documented scope (Generative AI Usage Policy §3.5).\n Refrain from entering member non-public personal information (NPI), confidential CUTX information, source code from restricted repositories, or material non-public information into any AI tool not explicitly approved for that data classification.\n Complete all required AI training within thirty (30) days of hire and maintain currency on annual refreshers.\nApproved AI Tools\nThe role is approved to use the following AI tools in performing essential functions (subject to the Generative AI Usage Policy and any tool-specific guidance issued by the AI Council):\n\n CUTX-approved internal AI assistants (e.g., Sam) for general productivity and approved knowledge tasks.\n Microsoft Copilot for office productivity (drafting, summarization, spreadsheet support).\n CUTX-approved AI features embedded in Jira, Azure DevOps, and Confluence for user story, test case, and documentation support.\n CUTX-approved AI-augmented testing and code-analysis tools deployed within the SDLC toolchain.\n\nUse of AI tools outside this list requires prior approval from the Chief Information Officer and the AI Council, per the Generative AI Usage Policy §4.
