Job DescriptionJob Title: Warehouse WorkerJob Description This role supports a busy warehouse and shipping operation by building crates for signs, assembling and packaging products, and handling materials across multiple departments. You will use hand and power tools, perform medium to heavy lifting, and ensure that shipments are accurately prepared, packaged, and loaded for delivery while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and safety. Responsibilities • Build wooden crates for signs and other products according to work orders and specifications., • Use a nail gun and other hand power tools safely and efficiently to assemble crates and pallets., • Perform medium to heavy lifting throughout the shift to move materials, parts, and finished products., • Assemble and palletize shipments to prepare orders for outbound delivery., • Package, box, and label shipments accurately to protect products and ensure correct routing., • Receive stock and materials, verify counts, and organize items in the appropriate warehouse areas., • Pull, pack, and load orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy and completeness., • Rotate through different areas within shipping such as crate building, small pack, and material handling as needed., • Read and interpret tape measurements and basic instructions to complete assembly and shipping tasks correctly., • Work independently to complete assigned tasks and also collaborate effectively with team members., • Communicate clearly with coworkers and supervisors to coordinate work and resolve issues., • Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety procedures, including the proper use of PPE., • Stay attentive and focused on work orders, avoiding cell phone use during work hours except on designated breaks., • Meet productivity and quality expectations by completing work orders accurately and on time.Essential Skills, • At least 1 year of material handling or warehouse experience, including working in multiple departments or functions., • At least 1 year of assembly experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or similar environment., • Proficiency using hand tools such as impact wrenches, drills, and other power tools., • Ability to use a nail gun safely and effectively for crate and pallet building., • Mechanical aptitude, including the ability to build pallets and assemble components using tools and measurements., • Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately., • Demonstrated strong work ethic and motivation to work consistently and reliably., • Ability to perform medium to heavy lifting and stand on concrete floors for the duration of the shift., • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team., • Strong teamwork and communication skills., • Detail-oriented approach to completing work orders correctly and safely., • Stable work history with at least 1 year of tenure at each previous job.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience with pallet jacks or forklifts (hilo) is a plus., • Previous experience in crate building, small pack, or shipping and receiving is beneficial., • Comfort working in different warehouse areas such as manufacturing, shipping/receiving, assembly, or testing., • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and move between departments as needed.Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a large, clean warehouse facility that is divided into manufacturing, shipping/receiving, assembly, and testing areas. The environment includes large signs and parts staged throughout the facility that are in various stages of development or ready for shipment. The warehouse is not temperature controlled, so it is cooler in the winter and hotter in the summer. You will work a day shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with current schedules often running 10-hour days and overtime available on Saturdays. The role requires standing on concrete floors for most of the shift and performing physical tasks such as lifting, assembling, and moving materials. You will use hand tools, power tools, nail guns, and material handling equipment as part of daily tasks. The dress code is casual, allowing jeans and an appropriate T-shirt. Safety glasses with side shields and hearing protection are provided, and steel-toed boots are required to ensure safety in the warehouse environment. Employees receive a 30-minute unpaid lunch break and two paid 10-minute breaks during the shift, and cell phone use is limited to designated break times to maintain focus and productivity. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Warren, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $17.50/hr.
