Job DescriptionJob Title: Carpenter Apprentice Job Description As a Carpenter Apprentice, you support experienced carpenters with day-to-day construction and carpentry tasks while learning the trade through hands-on experience. You assist with measuring, cutting, and assembling materials, installing basic structures, and maintaining a safe, clean job site. This role is ideal for someone who is eager to learn, enjoys physical work, and wants to build a long-term career in carpentry and construction. Responsibilities • Assist skilled carpenters with daily construction and carpentry tasks on residential and commercial projects., • Measure, mark, and cut wood and other materials accurately under supervision using tape measures, hand tools, and power tools., • Assemble and install basic structures such as framing, doors, trim, cabinetry, and fixtures according to instructions and plans., • Safely operate and care for hand tools and power tools, ensuring they are used correctly and stored properly., • Read and follow basic drawings, plans, or written and verbal instructions to complete assigned tasks., • Learn and apply proper construction methods and carpentry techniques under the guidance of experienced team members., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site by removing debris, organizing materials, and following housekeeping standards., • Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment as needed to support project progress., • Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines, including proper use of personal protective equipment., • Support team members to meet project timelines and quality standards by being dependable, responsive, and proactive., • Identify and report any safety concerns, equipment issues, or material shortages to supervisors in a timely manner.Essential Skills, • Basic knowledge of hand tools or a strong willingness to learn proper tool use and maintenance., • Foundational understanding or interest in construction and carpentry, including framing and finish carpentry., • Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately for cutting and measuring materials., • Capability to safely use hand tools and learn to operate power tools under supervision., • Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions for extended periods., • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive physical labor such as lifting, carrying, bending, and standing., • Strong work ethic with a willingness to follow instructions and learn from experienced carpenters., • Reliable transportation to and from job sites and the ability to maintain consistent attendance., • Positive attitude, dependability, and eagerness to learn a skilled trade., • Commitment to following safety procedures and OSHA guidelines at all times.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience in construction, carpentry, or framing, even at an entry level, is an asset., • Exposure to finish carpentry tasks such as installing trim, cabinetry, or fixtures is beneficial., • Familiarity with caulking and basic installation techniques is a plus., • Ability to communicate clearly with team members and follow both verbal and written directions., • Strong attention to detail and desire to produce quality workmanship., • Interest in building a long-term career in the construction and carpentry industry.Why Work Here? Work hours follow a typical construction schedule, which may start early in the day and require punctual, consistent attendance to meet project timelines. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, KS. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
