Job DescriptionJob Title: Construction Assistant Project ManagerJob Description We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support Project Managers in the execution of diverse construction projects. This role is primarily office-based, emphasizing financial and administrative project management tasks. The projects include water treatment facilities and industrial developments with pre-engineered metal buildings throughout the U.S. In Central Indiana, the portfolio comprises K-12 schools, car washes, parks and recreation facilities, National Guard projects, and renovations or additions to company headquarters. Some travel will be required. Responsibilities • Assist in managing project financials, including budget tracking, cost forecasting, subcontractor pay application review, and change order management., • Lead change management efforts by evaluating scope and cost impacts, preparing pricing, and supporting negotiations through execution and closeout., • Develop, review, and administer subcontract agreements, ensuring scope clarity, compliance, and alignment with project objectives., • Collaborate with Project Managers and Superintendents to develop and manage project schedules, including sequencing, subcontractor coordination, and recovery planning., • Take partial ownership of assigned project scopes, proactively identifying risks, resolving issues, and driving solutions that protect budget, schedule, and quality., • Support Project Managers with financial tracking, budgeting, and forecasting for multiple projects., • Prepare and manage RFIs, submittals, and change orders., • Assist in contract administration and ensure compliance with project requirements., • Coordinate procurement activities, including vendor communication and purchase order tracking., • Generate and maintain project documentation, including cost reports and progress updates., • Utilize project management and ERP software (e.g., Procore, Viewpoint, or similar) for documentation and reporting., • Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery., • Analyze project data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.Essential Skills, • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management., • At least 1 year of commercial construction experience, with water/wastewater or K-12 experience as a plus., • 1 year of experience with a general contractor, subcontractor, or multifamily projects., • 1 year of experience with construction software., • Experience in project financials, including budget tracking, cost forecasting, change order pricing, and subcontractor pay application review., • Experience in supporting or managing change management from identifying cost/scope impacts through negotiation and resolution., • Working knowledge of subcontractor contracts, including scope review, contract development, and enforcement., • Ability to build, maintain, and influence project schedules in coordination with Superintendents and subcontractors.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Willingness to travel., • Bilingual proficiency., • Experience with water/wastewater projects., • Experience with pre-engineered metal buildings., • Experience in K-12 or higher education construction., • Proficiency with Procore or similar construction software.
