Summary: Manages sales and marketing activities for the Company by performing the following duties personally. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Director of Sales & Marketing Marketing Focus: • In collaboration with the Senior V. P. Business Group Development (SVP), prepare and manage sales and marketing operating budget and related departmental expenses., • In collaboration with the SVP, develop comprehensive strategic sales marketing plans, budgets and programs to support field sales and activities., • From field activity, evaluate practitioner response to sales aids and promotional materials. Report observations along with competitor activity to SVP., • From competitive marketing materials, brochures, or other marketing avenues analyze and recognize competitive threats and report activity to SVP., • Oversee development and production of sales marketing promotional and collateral materials., • Plan and oversee sales marketing promotion activities including detail sheets, brochures, in-office marketing materials, patient pads, etc., • Management of creation and distribution of specials and promotions., • Coordinate team members in development of style, images, and other visual elements for adaptation to project objectives. (Sales & Marketing), • Develop and recommend product positioning and pricing strategy., • Oversee and evaluate market research and adjust marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions., • Oversee development and maintenance of customer database for marketing purposes., • Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers and strategic partners., • Conduct marketing surveys on current and new product concepts and provide feedback for future product development., • Responsible for developing subordinate employees through orientation, training, establishment of objectives and constructive discipline, while building employee morale, motivation, and loyalty., • Develop, prepare, monitor and maintain special projects and programs as requested., • Responsible for maintaining an open communication line with employees, customers, and vendors, while maintaining proper confidentiality, to ensure proper handling of all issues that may arise., • Any other duties of a similar or lesser nature as required. Sales Focus: • Responsible for developing, recommending for approval, implementing, monitoring, and maintaining territory sales plans, procedures, and policies to ensure that the company continually strengthens its competitive edge., • Responsible for developing, maintaining, monitoring, auditing, and distributing, all documentation associated with territory sales records, plans, procedures, and policies., • Responsible for maintaining an open communication line with employees, customers, and vendors to ensure proper handling of all territory sales issues that may arise., • Ensure that any territory sales discrepancies are handled according to procedure and resolved in a manner according to the terms specified to ensure the company meets are exceeds Federal, State, and Local government laws, ordinances, and regulations in all areas of responsibility., • Responsible for the continuous improvement in all areas of territory sales and to maintain the highest standards according to company policy., • Responsible for continuous improvement projects in all areas of responsibility., • Responsible for auditing own performance and recommending own objectives and standards of performance., • Responsible for maintaining an awareness of developments in the territory sales field that relates to job responsibilities and integrating them into own practices as well as Marketing., • Develop, prepare, monitor and maintain special projects and programs as requested., • Ensure safety within the department is always maintained., • Prepare daily, weekly, monthly and annual reports, analysis, records and databases for assigned area., • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to market to applicable businesses., • Direct sales forecasting activities and set performance goals accordingly., • Advise sales staff on sales and advertising techniques for applicable businesses., • Represent organization at trade shows and meetings to sell products and services., • Deliver sales presentations to key accounts in coordination with sales representatives., • Develop and maintain account relationships to sell product solutions and retain future relations with customers., • Ensure account is kept up to date on enhancements and new data for organization's products and services., • Identify business-training needs through strategic partnering with accounts., • Coordinate the required technical training on products and services for accounts and staff with the training department. Prepare periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed account base expansion., • Monitor and evaluate the activities and products of the competition., • Date entry and record maintenance update., • Make follow-up calls both in-office and when traveling. Coordinate follow-up schedules to reach MD and OD audience in region., • Maintain OCuSOFT presence in Dr’s office by in-person contact., • Identify buying recommendation opportunities for customers and prospects., • Handle customer inquiries for samples/purchases of products. Coordinate with assistant as necessary., • Stock Optical/Dr’s office w/OCuSOFT products., • Prepare bids for customers and prospects., • Take orders by phone and in person., • Coordinate product returns and request home office assistance., • Record and address maintenance; update info and submit to office., • Generate orders based on average calls made in office and field., • Inform Management of promotions from competition and implement into Marketing., • Average 10 calls per day when out in field., • Provide regular reports to Sales Manager regarding territory growth., • Any other duties of a similar or lesser nature as required.
