This role is responsible for manage maintenance in our facilities will work with Maintenance Director to coordinate activities to support all facilities in maintaining operational excellence, while managing and working with a team of maintenance technicians to complete necessary maintenance duties ,will be in charge of contractors and all project follow up when the maintenance director is not on the plant, will be responsible for hiring and training staff and ensuring the smooth running of upkeep or repair operations. must be reliable and have a great eye for detail. They must have technical skills and knowledge of various crafts such as Industrial machinery controls, electrical power distribution, facilities installations repair, plumbing, pneumatics, hydraulics etc. Leadership and knowledge of administrative tasks such as scheduling are also essential. The goal is to ensure that facilities, equipment and all company assets are always in a good, safe condition, the usable life span at high production and optimum quality yield is extended. Duties and Responsibilities: • Reports to the Maintenance Director, responsible for workflow, materials, and equipment for the maintenance team to support a highly reliable, safe working environment., • Lead change and implementation of systematic processes required to achieve maintenance objectives which directly support manufacturing excellence., • Promote the concepts of teamwork, communicating will all departments and crews to translate work requirements into clear and achievable plans., • Work directly with vendors, contractors, maintenance and purchasing to plan, prioritize, and schedule maintenance work., • Ensure crew effectiveness and policy discipline to all company and customer standards., • Develop and continuously improve the preventative, predictive, and condition-based maintenance monitoring programs for all plant equipment., • Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System to effectively manage work to achieve a minimum of 98% plant utilization in the most cost-efficient manner., • Work with the department to adjust the maintenance program to increase plant utilization and/or decrease costs., • Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of maintenance staff., • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive., • Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy., • Work effectively in a small group to set mid and long-term goals and measure progress., • Work with Maintenance and Engineering to plan for major mill shutdowns and other project work., • Coordinates with purchasing and vendors to ensure parts availability for emergent work., • Inspect facilities periodically to determine problems and necessary maintenance developing or revisiting maintenance procedures., • Prepare weekly maintenance schedules and allocate work., • Recruit, supervise and train maintenance technicians., • Hire, train and supervise tradesmen during installations, repairs or maintenance (electricians, plumbers etc.), • Inspect and maintain building systems (heating, ventilation etc.), • Contribute to the development of the maintenance budget and ensure compliance Assists with departmental budget estimates and costs of specific repair projects., • Monitor inventory of materials and equipment., • Participate in coordination of projects (e.g. renovations.), • Ensure adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations, OSHA, NFPA70E, FSA, USDA, GMP., • Able to do troubleshooting technically based on the following: Diagrams, lay outs, systems/circuits, Motor controls, PLC’s, electronic drives, basic electrical construction techniques, electro-mechanical systems, and a working understanding of hydraulic systems., • Establish a workflow that captures all necessary data points to improve operations., • Locate manufacturers and after-market distributors to obtain competitive costs on parts or improved service. Order parts and supplies as needed., • Maintain a cost-effective preventive maintenance program. Must document the work schedule and process of PM’s., • Oversee and plan contract work and installations done by outside vendors when the Director is out of the plant., • Assist in selection, evaluation, and installation of capital and expense projects., • Assists with departmental budget estimates and costs of specific repair projects, • Implement, maintain, and support all company policies and procedures, safety programs, and good housekeeping., • Demonstrate ability to parallel all rolls, make all required settings and adjustments for optimum equipment performance to manufacture quality products., • Demonstrate ability to use all aspects of the maintenance software program., • Demonstrate ability to plan and schedule maintenance work, assign work to other maintenance classifications according to their abilities and limitations., • Ensures maintenance and repair work is performed properly, completed correctly and in a timely manner., • Maximize the utilization of equipment by maintaining the machinery to run at available capacity and speed., • Complete any paperwork neatly, correctly and in accordance with Company guidelines., • Establish high morale throughout your department by showing fairness, consistency, and an interest in employee problems. Maintain confidentiality., • Ensure adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping., • Performs other related duties as assigned. (Additional duties may be assigned by management.), • Strong technical knowledge of all building systems (electrical, heating etc.), • Knowledge of health, safety and food safety practices and regulations., • Understanding of budgeting and performance management., • Excellent planning and leadership abilities., • An eye for detail., • Computer savvy., • Demonstrate a high degree of knowledge of the following systems/circuits, Motor controls, PLC’s, electronic drives, basic electrical construction techniques, electro-mechanical systems, and a working understanding of hydraulic systems., • Proven experience as maintenance supervisor or similar role, • Minimum deserved associate’s degree in engineering, Business Administration or other related field/vocational studies, Degree from a vocational school College or University will be a plus, • Professional Certifications (e.g. CMRP or HVAC certified NFPA70&70E) are preferred, • Maintenance: 5 years (Preferred), • Candidates are PREFERRED who offer the following: Meat processing or food industry requirements exposure USDA, NSF, BRC., • Must be able to traverse property and facility at standard industrial speed to diagnose building issues and plan repairs or maintenance, climb stairs or ladder safely and supervise work at 50ft., • Must be physically able to perform repairs when needed., • Prolonged periods standing or sitting at a desk and working on a computer., • Holiday Pay, • Paid Time Off, • Health Insurance, • Vision Insurance, • Dental Insurance, • Life Insurance, • Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
