Job Description Job Summary: This position is responsible for performing high-quality troubleshooting, analysis, and repair work on CAT heavy equipment in order to respond to customer needs in a positive, caring, and timely manner and to ensure maximum value for work performed. In addition, this position requires a detail-minded individual with thorough construction equipment knowledge. Five years of Caterpillar Construction Machine troubleshooting/diagnosing experience required. #CAT #Caterpillar What can HOLT CAT offer you? • A competitive salary, commensurate with your experience and competencies., • A comprehensive and robust benefits program that includes complete health care, 401(k) matching & Profit-Sharing plan (ROTH and traditional), paid holidays, and a front-loaded PTO program., • A Tuition Reimbursement program to support the pursuit of accredited college courses., • Performs advanced troubleshooting and diagnosing of equipment malfunctions and failures, • Advises customer of problem areas, recommends repair solutions, acquires customer approval, and orders appropriate parts in order to repair equipment in a timely manner, • Removes and replaces machine components utilizing required technical data and procedures in order to repair equipment to dealership and CAT standards, • Maintain technical proficiency through self-study and/or successful completion of required training courses in order to increase job-related competencies, • Performs product improvement updates as needed, • Completes all documents associated with repairs in a timely manner, • Maintains all equipment and work areas – keeps in good, clean, and orderly condition, • Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards, • Works overtime as required by workload and customers’ needs, • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; e.g., Technical Service Department Training Paths, • Advance knowledge of hydraulics, electronic controls, electrical systems/components, and core machine models, • Thorough knowledge of CAT equipment and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance, • Demonstrates proficiency with current computer software, related hardware, and electronic machine systems, • Operation and control skills - Controlling operations of equipment or systems, • Equipment selection skills - Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job, • Ability to assess the condition of used equipment and basic knowledge of used equipment values, • Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and equipment used in mechanical repair, • The ability to quickly and repeatedly operate the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions, • The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects, • Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness, • Exceptional organizational, self-management, time management, and multi-tasking skills, • The ability to read, write, and understand information, • Five years of work-related skill, knowledge, and experience with construction equipment is required, • High school diploma or equivalent preferred, • Must be able to move objects, and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue, • Frequently moves materials or equipment weighing up to 80 lb, • Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina, • Ascends/descends with gradual or continuous progress by oneself, using both hands and feet, and climbs up and down ladders and/or equipment, • Be able to maneuver safely and work underneath equipment LI-JH1 #LI-HCT #ZR#JH #HOLTCAT #CAT #CATERPILLAR #HeavyEquipment #TechnicalServcies #CATET
