Job DescriptionDescription: Position Title: Deli Clerk Position Summary: The Deli Clerk is responsible for preparing and displaying deli items, ensuring product quality, and providing exceptional customer service. This role involves operating various kitchen equipment such as ovens, scales, mixer, and fryers. The Deli Clerk will also assist customers with their purchases, maintain a clean work area, and follow all store safety and health regulations. General Purpose: To assist in the preparation, presentation, and sale of deli items while ensuring high standards of cleanliness, safety, and customer service. The Deli Clerk will help customers with their selections and contribute to the overall success of the department. Position Responsibilities: • Product Preparation & Display:, • Prepare and display a variety of deli items, including fried foods, and pizzas., • Operate mixers, ovens, fryers, and scales to prepare and portion products according to store specifications., • Wrap, price, and label items accurately for customer purchase., • Customer Service:, • Greet and assist customers with their deli selections, providing product recommendations and answering questions., • Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering friendly, helpful service and resolving any issues or concerns., • Department Maintenance:, • Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all cleanliness and food safety guidelines., • Follow proper handling, storage, and sanitation procedures to ensure the safety and quality of deli products., • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the department, including cleaning equipment and work surfaces., • Ensure all equipment is used and maintained properly, following store safety rules., • Team Support:, • Assist management and team members with additional tasks as needed, including restocking items, organizing inventory, and preparing promotional displays., • Previous experience in a deli or food service environment is a plus but not required., • Ability to operate kitchen equipment such as mixers and fryers safely and efficiently., • Strong customer service skills, with the ability to interact positively with customers and team members., • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously., • Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices is preferred.
