Job Description Title: Associate Director, Policy & Training Location: 4822 N Broadway Schedule: On-site, Monday to Friday (8:30am-5:00pm) Summary: Drive excellence through policy and training. Heartland Human Care Services is seeking an Associate Director of Policy and Training to lead the development, implementation, and oversight of policies and training that ensure our SAFEty programs meet the highest standards. Reporting to the Managing Director of Compliance, Policy, and Training, you’ll play a key role in aligning programs with organizational, licensing, funder, and accreditation requirements. In this role, you’ll oversee the training framework, from updating existing curricula to creating new content and delivering it through hybrid learning models. You’ll also lead a team of trainers who provide compliance-focused instruction as well as child welfare best practices, ensuring staff have the tools and professional development they need to thrive. BCBS PPO, EPO, and HSA Plans, • Dental insurance., • Vision insurance., • 401(k) 3% Employer Contribution., • Paid maternity leave., • Paid paternity leave., • Commuter benefits., • Professional Development Assistance., • Disability insurance, • FSA Spending Account, • Life Insurance, • Employee Assistance Program Duties & Responsibilities Staff Training and Development: • Develops, organizes, and participates in New Employee Orientation (NEO) for SAFEty Initiatives’ employees., • Trains, coaches, and monitors SAFEty staff in quality management and program compliance processes., • Provides consistent, quality supervision to the Training Specialists at SAFEty ensuring the development, implementation and evaluation of the SAFEty Training Strategy and the professional development of the team and the individuals on the team., • Provides leadership in the development of department and program policies and procedures., • Maintains and updates SAFEty Initiatives Policy Manuals., • Assists program managers and directors in the area of staff development and monitors implementation of quality improvement plans., • Creates a positive and professional work environment for staff., • Participates in various quality management committees within Heartland Human Care Services., • Works with directors in interviewing, hiring, and training; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems to ensure consistency of policy and practice., • Provides research and written analysis of issues as assigned. Develops quantitative and qualitative research projects to further enhance the knowledge of the population(s) served by SAFEty Initiatives., • Remains current on developments in relevant populations, through independent study and attendance at seminars, conferences, conventions, and other related activities., • Provides updates to the supervising executive regarding service issues, strategic planning, new opportunities, management issues and to communicate program successes., • Bachelor's degree in training and development or a social services field is required. Master’s Degree preferred., • Minimum of five (5) years of experience conducting training/presentations for groups of various sizes., • Minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience A valid driving license. Must have regular access to a reliable vehicle., • Ability to work during non-traditional hours such as evenings and weekends., • Excellent communication skills. Strong networker, convener, relationship builder and communicator with experience collaborating with diverse work teams and stakeholders., • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information possessing skills to handle situations in a professional and diplomatic manner., • A high degree of collaboration and emotional intelligence, self-motivation, and analytical ability., • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Learning Management Systems, Outlook/Exchange; Windows operating systems; and other software routinely used by Heartland Human Care Services., • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form., • Ability to work independently and remain self-motivated with minimal direct supervision. This role is on-site. All hours will be worked in person. This position will be based in the central office but has an active presence at all assigned programs on a rotating basis as needed for specific circumstances and meetings. Work Environment: • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate., • Ability to sit at a desk for a large portion of the day., • Extensive reaching, bending, and moving of objects up to 25 pounds to organize and place in files. Ability to carry a laptop computer and training materials., • May require periods of walking throughout the facility., • May require periods of standing., • Ability to effectively operate and utilize a computer.
