Job Description Sargent Aerospace & Defense, a division of RBC Bearings, is a premier global supplier of custom-engineered, high-quality products to the Aerospace and Defense Industries. Products and systems include hydraulic actuation and valve systems, locking actuators, steering metering control valves, fuse pins, hot forged bolts, pneumatic ducting and valve seals, tubing system alignment joints, engine hot section and structural components, airframe components, shock strut bearings, PTFE lined spherical bearings and broad component maintenance, overhaul, spares logistics and power-by-the-hour support services. Sargent is also a major supplier of hydraulic control valves to the US Navy on all Nuclear Class Submarine programs. Sargent has an immediate opening for an Quality Engineer in the Kahr Bearing division located at 6950 S. Country Club Rd. Tucson, AZ 85756. The Quality Engineer will perform various quality administrative support duties including supplier quality requirement flow downs, preparation of quality data analysis to support the overall quality management system and main quality KPI's, contract review and quality flow down creation. Roles and Responsibilities: • Ensure that safety is the foundation of daily work through vigilance and accountability, • Manage and execute tactical tasks; MRRs, CARs, MRB dispositions, Purges, • QC Items define supplier quality requirements, assure alignment to customer and Sargent's requirements, • Data entry into CSI system., • Assist with First Article Inspection (FAI) planning and reviews., • Assist with data analysis to identify Trends and, • Assist with Gage R&R (gage repeatability and reproducibility) studies, defining inspection methods and equipment., • Support the QMS to Create, Revise and Update work instructions and procedures., • Contract review and quality flow down creation Minimum Qualification: • BS degree OR AS degree + 2 years QA experience OR HS diploma + 4 years QA experience, • Familiar with quality tools usage including process mapping and reviews, pFMEA (failure mode effects analysis), Process Control Plan and basic Process Controls, Capability analysis, Statistical Control and Inspection plans design, upgrading and implementation, process performance monitoring and Q-KPI definition. Data collection, analysis and reporting., • Ability to think analytically and creatively, identify and develop quality solutions, and use appropriate judgment and decision-making skills necessary to achieve desired goals., • Acquainted with Continuous Improvement and Problem Solving tools including Data analysis, Opportunity and problem definition, root cause analysis, measurement system analysis, pareto analysis and project management., • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills, • Ability to work under pressure and adhere to a strict production schedule and handle conflicting priorities, • Proficient with applicable computer programs, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook, • Technical writing experience, • Must be a US citizen Preferred Qualifications: • Proven knowledge of Quality Management System standards, • Ability to read and understand drawings including GD&T and other requirements, • Internal Auditor experience to AS9100 Quality System, • ASQ -CQE or CQA, • Experience with DFARS( Defense Acquisition Regulations System), • AS9100 Auditor Certification, • Experience with Continuous Improvement techniques, • Material Review Board experience, • Defense Contract Management Agency and Federal Aviation Administration experience, • Previous experience with Lean/ 6Sigma, such as Yellow Belt or above, • Previous experience as a customer delegated inspector, • Ability to sit at a desk and work with a computer is necessary, sometimes for extended periods Physical Requirements: • Ability to safely move about in a variety of work environments, from office to manufacturing floor, and other In 2015, RBC acquired Sargent Aerospace and Defense.
