In this dynamic position, you will collaborate with finance, IT, attorneys, staff, vendors, and leadership to understand business needs, evaluate system issues, recommend practical solutions, and improve financial systems and processes. This role requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, a service-oriented mindset, and the ability to think critically within complex financial and practice management systems. The role’s primary focus is business systems analysis, financial systems optimization, and advanced user support, with Fulcrum as a core system environment. The ideal candidate is a thoughtful systems analyst who can evaluate user needs, diagnose root causes, analyze data and workflows, exercise judgment, recommend improvements, coordinate with vendors and internal teams, and help users work more effectively within the firm’s systems. Success Factors The following set of success factors describes the characteristics of those who are successful in our Firm: • Helpful, Congenial, Personable, Positive, • Unpretentious, Approachable, Respectful, Team Oriented, • Accountable, Takes Ownership, Corrects Mistakes, • Organized, Timely, Confidential, Responsive within 24 hours, • Detail-oriented, service-focused, and able to evaluate complex system issues through resolution, • Able to exercise sound judgment, think critically, analyze alternatives, and recommend practical solutions Duties and Responsibilities • Act as data custodian for firm practice management and financial systems., • Serve as a liaison between finance, IT, attorneys, staff, vendors, and leadership to evaluate business needs, analyze system-related issues, and recommend appropriate solutions., • Analyze, support, enhance, and maintain Fulcrum and related financial, practice management, accounting, billing, collections, timekeeping, and reporting applications., • Evaluate user-reported issues and determine whether they relate to system configuration, user access, permissions, process design, user behavior, data quality, reporting logic, or training gaps., • Exercise independent judgment in assessing system issues, prioritizing follow-up, recommending solutions, and determining when vendor or IT escalation is appropriate., • Identify recurring issues, process gaps, and opportunities to improve system usage, reporting accuracy, workflow efficiency, and user experience., • Manage user onboarding and offboarding processes within financial systems., • Set up and maintain user system access, permissions, and settings with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail., • Generate, analyze, and interpret reports for attorneys, support staff, finance users, and management., • Generate and write reports using database queries, Excel, Business Objects, Power BI, and related tools., • Provide training and ongoing guidance to end users, helping them optimize system usage and follow established processes., • Train new and existing users on practice management software, financial systems, and related processes., • Create and maintain documentation for software processes, system workflows, user guidance, reporting logic, and recommended procedures., • Interact with vendor representatives to evaluate and resolve software issues, assess available solutions, and support system functionality., • Generate change requests for software changes, document business requirements, and test proposed solutions., • Assist in the design, testing, deployment, and evaluation of new applications and enhancements to existing software., • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by aligning financial systems, user workflows, and business needs., • Collaborate with other teams and IT staff to ensure smooth and reliable operations., • Provide remote and on-site systems guidance and issue-resolution support as needed, with a focus on client satisfaction, sound judgment, and high-quality, consistent service delivery., • Quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation, vendor resources, and Internet resources., • Work independently while also being comfortable in a team environment., • Deliver dependable and accurate work product., • Provide after-hours support when necessary., • Other duties as assigned. Education, Experience, and Skills • A bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred., • A minimum of three years of professional work experience in a similar financial systems, business systems analysis, application analysis, or systems improvement role., • Experience analyzing, supporting, and improving financial, practice management, billing, accounting, collections, timekeeping, or related business applications., • Experience evaluating user issues, analyzing workflows, documenting business requirements, comparing solution options, recommending system or process improvements, and coordinating with IT or vendors to implement solutions., • Strong internal customer service skills, including patience, professionalism, responsiveness, and the ability to advise and support users with varying levels of technical sophistication., • Exceptional attention to detail, especially when working with system access, user permissions, financial data, reports, and support documentation., • Strong critical thinking, analytical, communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills., • Fulcrum SNAP, Epoch, and Upfront experience preferred., • Experience with UKG, Concur, and Litify preferred., • Experience with billing software similar to Salvo, BillBlast, 3E Elite, or Aderant preferred., • Familiarity with SQL is a plus., • Experience with scripting, including SQL, PowerShell, VBA, or Python, is preferred., • MS Power Apps, Power BI, or Business Objects experience is preferred., • Advanced proficiency in Office 365, especially Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis., • Familiarity with web browser support.
