Job Description We are looking for a Senior Accountant who will take ownership of the accounting function and help ensure the company’s financial records are accurate, timely, organized, and useful for decision-making. This is a hands-on, in-office role for someone who enjoys both the details and the responsibility that comes with leading a key function in the company. The Senior Accountant will oversee daily accounting operations, manage reconciliations, support reporting, supervise accounting team members, and ensure key accounting, payroll, tax, and compliance deadlines are met. The right person for this role is accountable, detail-oriented, organized, and proactive. They ask thoughtful questions, solve problems, follow through, and communicate clearly. Key Responsibilities • Own and manage the full accounting cycle, including daily accounting activity, reconciliations, reporting support, and month-end closing., • Monitor multiple bank accounts daily and identify cash activity, pending items, discrepancies, or issues requiring follow-up., • Oversee accounts payable, including bill review, payment entry, coding, approvals, and supporting documentation., • Manage accounts receivable activity, including customer account review, statement follow-up, collections support, and credit memos., • Ensure bank, credit card, loan, and balance sheet reconciliations are completed accurately and on time., • Process weekly payroll and maintain accurate employee time-off balances., • Supervise and support 2–3 accounting team members, including daily direction, review of work, training, and accountability., • Maintain accurate financial records, organized documentation, and strong internal controls., • File sales tax reports, annual reports, and other recurring compliance items by required deadlines., • Manage insurance renewals, vehicle registrations, and other business administration responsibilities as needed., • Support new-hire administration, recruiting coordination, and employee setup when needed., • Identify process improvements that make the accounting function more accurate, consistent, and scalable. What Success Looks Like • Accounting records are accurate, complete, and kept current., • Reconciliations, payroll, sales tax filings, and compliance deadlines are completed on time., • Accounts payable and accounts receivable are managed consistently and professionally., • Leadership has timely visibility into cash activity, accounting issues, compliance deadlines, and process gaps., • The accounting team is clear on expectations, held accountable, and supported in doing quality work., • Financial processes become more organized, documented, and dependable over time., • The Senior Accountant demonstrates ownership, critical thinking, confidentiality, and a team-first mindset. Experience Required • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred; Finance or related field considered with relevant experience., • 5+ years of accounting experience, including full-cycle accounting responsibilities., • 2+ years of QuickBooks experience required., • Strong Excel skills required, including the ability to organize, analyze, and reconcile financial data., • Hands-on experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, payroll, and month-end close., • Prior experience supervising or leading accounting team members., • Deep understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and accurate recordkeeping., • Experience with sales tax filings, compliance deadlines, insurance renewals, or business administration preferred., • Proficiency with accounting systems, banking platforms, spreadsheets, and standard business software., • Strong attention to detail, follow-through, organization, and communication skills., • High integrity, confidentiality, professionalism, and accountability.
