Job Description Hazen is seeking a qualified and experienced Project Engineer to support the planning, design and construction of water and wastewater facility infrastructure in Lexington or Louisville Kentucky. Key Responsibilities: • Work on a wide range of projects to include planning, design, permitting, and construction of structures in water and wastewater (i.e. drinking water, wastewater, water resources, conveyance), • Client development opportunities, • Project management opportunities, • Technical leadership and staff mentoring opportunities across Hazen’s Midwest region, • Fieldwork and site visits from planning through construction may be required with occasional travel Required Qualifications: • 5 - 10 years of experience in relevant municipal water/wastewater design and construction experience, • Experience in planning, design, and construction for water and wastewater treatment facilities, • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and capable of interacting effectively with staff, clients, and regulatory agencies, • Self-starter with attention to detail, • Strong organizational skills, • Proficient in all MS Office based computer software, • PE license (KY preferred or ability to obtain reciprocity within six months of employment), • B.S. degree in Environmental, Civil, or Biosystems engineering Preferred Qualifications: • Advanced degree (Master’s) of Science or Engineering from an ABET-accredited U.S. program (other engineering degrees considered case by case) What We Offer: • Comprehensive health benefits (medical, dental, vision, and prescription plans), • Pre-tax flexible spending plans for medical, dependent care, and transportation, • Short and long-term disability, and employer paid life insurance, • Paid holidays, floating holidays, and paid time off (PTO), • Employer-contributed 401(k) plan and additional financial planning support, • Professional growth opportunities, including tuition reimbursement, in-house training, and incentives for professional registration and professional organization memberships, • Starting pay range for this position depends on skills, experience, education and geographical location
