The Opportunity The Law Offices of Samer Habbas & Associates, PC is looking for a dedicated Litigation Paralegal - (Bilingual English/Spanish) to join our team in Irvine, CA. The Ideal candidate will have completed a paralegal course through an accredited program and have a minimum of 2 years of experience. A successful Paralegal in our office will have the knowledge and skills necessary to assist attorneys as they prepare cases for trial, including drafting pleadings, discovery, motions, and trial practice. This is a full-time (40 hours per week), fully on-site role in our Irvine, CA office. Requirements • Preparing legal documents such as pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and subpoenas, as well as correspondences and other documents necessary for case management, • Managing the discovery process, including preparing and responding to discovery requests, organizing and reviewing discovery documents, and coordinating and reviewing responses with clients, • Preparation and filing of legal documents with the court, ensuring compliance with court rules and deadlines, including electronic and physical filings., • Maintaining professional communication with court personnel, opposing counsel and others in the scope of a case, • Organize and maintain case files, • Assisting in the preparation of cases by gathering and organizing evidence, documents, and other relevant materials, including reviewing case files, drafting summaries, and ensuring all necessary documentation is in order, • Interacting with clients in a professional manner to gather information, update them on case status, and assist with any queries they might have, • Keeping track of important litigation dates and deadlines, managing case calendars, and ensuring that all tasks are completed in a timely manner, • Providing general administrative support to attorneys, such as scheduling meetings, coordinating with experts, and managing case files, • Ensuring that all actions comply with legal and ethical standards, including maintaining client confidentiality and adhering to court rules and procedures, • Coordinate requests between multiple parties involved in litigation by way of consistent communication with client, claims and full partnership with attorney through end of case Minimum Qualifications • Completion of accredited Paralegal program or Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies; Bachelor's in addition to Paralegal studies preferred, • 2+ years of experience as a Paralegal, • Knowledge of California Civil Code of Procedure and California Rules of Court, • Exceptional writing and analytical capabilities (experienced in legal writing preferred but not required), • Knowledge of calendaring requirements, • Ability to manage a midsize caseload of litigation files, • Knowledge of legal databases (CASEpeer, FileVine preferred but not required), • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, • Ability to work with several cross-functional teams to provide the best service to our clients, • Analytical and problem-solving skills, • Superior time management and capable to handle multiple cases and deadlines at once Benefits: • Compensation based on experience: $28.00 - $35.00 an hour, • We have a company culture that fosters career growth and opportunity We are a team – everyone is important and contributes to corporate growth and success, • We pay 60% of your health and dental plan, and offer life, vision and pet insurance, • We recognize that time off to recharge is important, so we offer paid time off that starts to accrue on your first day of work The Law Offices of Samer Habbas & Associates, PC is an equal opportunity employer.
