Job Description Job Title: Route Driver Job Description The Route Driver operates a company F60 truck to service a rotating bi-weekly route to customer locations in Rockaway, NJ. This role ensures accurate and timely delivery of products and promotional materials, maintains proper inventory levels, and supports in-store merchandising and equipment care. The Route Driver serves as a key customer-facing representative, using a tablet to manage orders, documenting route activities, and providing basic training on beverage equipment to store personnel. Responsibilities • Drive an F60 truck safely and efficiently on a set route that rotates bi-weekly to customer locations in the Rockaway, NJ area., • Load and unload the vehicle each day to ensure all products and promotional items are prepared for the daily route., • Utilize a tablet to place orders for new product as needed during route visits., • Monitor product levels at each location and ensure proper product presentation and merchandising., • Complete all scheduled deliveries accurately and on time, including delivery of promotional materials., • Discuss new products with store personnel and inform them about current and upcoming promotional items., • Provide basic training and guidance on ICEE equipment operation to store personnel who are unfamiliar with the machines., • Clean beverage machines at customer locations and replenish cups, lids, straws, and other related stock., • Refresh and straighten promotional materials to maintain a professional and appealing display., • Obtain store stamps on invoices at accounts where this is required., • Complete a daily recap on the route envelope, including an inventory of deliveries made, mileage driven, and time in and out for the route., • Record any comments, issues, or notes for supervisors on the route envelope for follow-up., • Perform weekly vehicle checks to ensure the truck is in safe and proper working condition., • Minimum of two (2) years of customer service and/or route driving experience., • Valid driver’s license in good standing., • Any kind of prior driving or delivery experience., • Ability to lift 55 pounds or more on a regular basis, with occasional lifting in excess of 70 pounds., • Experience with stocking and unloading products., • Ability to operate and drive a truck safely on a daily route., • Strong customer service skills and comfort interacting with store personnel., • Ability to use a tablet or similar device to place orders and record route information., • Route driving experience is a bonus but not strictly required., • At least 21 years of age due to Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements., • Familiarity with merchandising and product presentation in retail environments is helpful. Work Environment This is a full-time, weekday role with a Monday through Friday schedule starting at 7:00 AM. Work is primarily performed on the road and at customer locations, involving frequent driving of an F60 truck, regular loading and unloading of products, and physical activity such as lifting and carrying items weighing 55 pounds or more, with occasional lifts exceeding 70 pounds. The position requires working in and out of retail or customer facilities, cleaning and servicing beverage machines, and handling cups, lids, straws, and promotional materials. The environment is fast-paced and hands-on, with a focus on safety, timely deliveries, and professional interaction with store personnel. Dress is expected to be practical and appropriate for driving, physical work, and customer-facing service in retail settings. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Rockaway, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
