Job Description RFA Engineering () is an engineering service provider dedicated to delivering our clients with timely engineering support and expertise. We are seeking an experienced candidate to become an integral part of our engineering team. The selected candidate will work with an experienced engineering staff using state-of-the-art engineering tools & processes. This position will ideally operate onsite at our customer's engineering and manufacturing facility near Kansas City, MO. A flexible hybrid schedule or fully remote work arrangements could be made for the right candidate. Senior Electrical Test Engineer The Senior Electrical Test Engineer is responsible for leading the verification and validation of products across development, sustaining, compliance, and certification activities. This role provides the infrastructure, test methods, and capabilities necessary to ensure design integrity, manufacturing reliability, quality, and compliance. This individual will ensure that all products, assemblies, and components are thoroughly tested, meet performance and certification requirements, and are free from defects after reaching the customer. Responsibilities • Develop and execute verification and validation test methods, protocols, and reports for components, assemblies, and electro-mechanical systems., • Design test cases, methodologies, processes, and acceptance criteria to validate product life cycle performance and quality metrics., • Build and maintain best-in-class test capabilities, including automated test equipment (ATE), data acquisition, logging, and analytics tools., • Conduct functional testing of electro-mechanical assemblies, mechanical components, and electrical/control circuits., • Integrate Design for Test (DFT) principles into new product development (NPD) and engineering change (ECR) processes., • Develop and implement test methods for root cause analysis (RCA) of failures., • Lead lab testing and certification activities to UL, CE, and ETL standards, ensuring compliance with ASME A17.5, ASME A18.1, and other applicable regulatory requirements., • 5+ years of professional product engineering experience, including 5+ years in a lead or senior test engineering role., • Proven expertise in mechanical and electro-mechanical system testing and validation., • Proficiency with CAD and 3D modeling software platforms such as SolidWorks and CREO., • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities., • Experience with Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT), environmental, and vibration testing methods., • Direct experience with lab testing for UL, CE, and ETL certifications and compliance to ASME A17.5 and ASME A18.1 standards., • Working knowledge of product compliance and certification processes with agencies such as UL, ETL, TUV, CSA, and external labs. Position Summary The Software Engineer will contribute to the development, calibration, and testing of new vehicle functional control system software, as well as supporting current products through feature upgrades, bug fixes, and new feature integration. The Software Engineer will develop and support a variety of applications from Vehicle Charging and Operation to communication interfaces with Autonomous Systems for Remote Drive Capabilities. Position Responsibilities • Design, develop, and release control software for various controllers and displays., • Provide troubleshooting of Software Systems’ issues of new/existing product development and current product equipment, to quickly determine root cause with limited support from others., • Interface with key suppliers to create and improve select firmware to improve product performance., • Work with sales to understand customer needs and create market driven design solutions., • Collaborate with peer engineers to ensure hardware and software solutions are integrated into the vehicle infrastructure seamlessly (i.e., including propulsion, hydraulic, pneumatic, and cab systems)., • Ensure projects are completed to target cost, performance requirements, and timing constraints., • Communicate project progression via internal project management tools., • Position scope may grow to include additional vehicle systems as needed. Position Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering from an accredited university or other Engineering degree with relevant industry experience, • Strong interpersonal skills, • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, • Ability to work well independently and with a team, • Proficiency with C language.
