Job Description Music Program Director International Classical Music Festival (Piano, Violin, Viola, Cello) (Two-Week Intensive Program, National Music Competition) We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and visionary Music Program Director to lead and manage our International Classical Music Festival, a two-week intensive program focused on classical music performance and training in piano, violin, viola, and cello. The ideal candidate will be a compassionate and highly organized leader with a strong background in classical music education, artistic planning, program administration, and participant care. This individual will oversee all aspects of the festival, including participant recruitment and well-being, faculty and guest artist management, curriculum development, festival operations, performance planning, and administration of the Amici Competition. The Director will play a central role in ensuring that the festival delivers a world-class artistic and educational experience while remaining aligned with the mission and values of the organization. Key Responsibilities Festival Leadership • Develop and implement the overall vision for the International Classical Music Festival, • Ensure that all festival activities reflect the mission, artistic standards, and educational goals of the organization, • Provide strong artistic, administrative, and operational leadership throughout the program, • Maintain a positive, professional, and supportive environment for students, faculty, guest artists, and families Participant Experience & Operations • Oversee all participant logistics, including registration, housing arrangements, dorm room assignments, scheduling, and daily operations, • Serve as the primary point of contact for participants and their families before and during the festival, • Support participant well-being, safety, and day-to-day needs throughout the program, • Manage all operational aspects of the Amici Competition, • Organize and oversee the competition application process, including submission tracking and coordination of materials, • Coordinate competition scheduling, including audition times, rounds, judging schedules, and related event logistics, • Communicate with applicants, judges, accompanists, faculty, and staff regarding competition procedures and timelines, • Recruit, hire, train, and manage qualified classical music instructors and guest artists, • Build and supervise a faculty team with expertise in piano, violin, viola, and cello, • Evaluate faculty performance and provide leadership, support, and ongoing professional development, • Design and oversee a comprehensive classical music curriculum for the festival, • Ensure programming includes:, • Private lessons, • Masterclasses, • Chamber music coaching, • Structured individual practice time, • Performance preparation, • Ensure that the curriculum is engaging, educational, artistically rigorous, and tailored to the needs of the participants, • Develop and manage the program budget responsibly and effectively, • Oversee administrative tasks related to festival planning and implementation, • Ensure compliance with all charity policies, institutional requirements, and safety regulations, • Organize and direct all festival performances, recitals, workshops, masterclasses, and related events, • Ensure that performances and events are professionally planned and executed, • Work closely with faculty, staff, and guest artists to deliver high-quality artistic presentations Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Music, Music Education, Arts Administration, or a related field, • Master’s degree preferred, • Doctorate degree (DMA or PhD) strongly preferred, • Proven experience in a leadership or directorial role within a classical music program, festival, camp, conservatory, or educational setting, • Strong background in classical music education and administration, • Experience working with piano, violin, viola, and cello programs preferred, • Strong administrative and organizational skills, including experience managing budgets, logistics, and program operations, • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, staff, guest artists, and families from diverse backgrounds, • Demonstrated ability to recruit, lead, and manage faculty and guest artists at a high professional level, • A strong passion for classical music education and a clear commitment to the mission of [Charity Name] Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is: • A compassionate and capable leader, • Deeply knowledgeable in classical music training, • Experienced in both artistic direction and program administration, • Able to manage a fast-paced festival environment with professionalism and calm, • Committed to student growth, artistic excellence, and organizational integrity Compensation • Competitive compensation based on experience and scope of responsibilities, • Additional support for housing and festival-related logistics may be provided, as applicable Company DescriptionAmici is a non profit organization which helps young classical musicians to enhance their skillsAmici is a non profit organization which helps young classical musicians to enhance their skills
