Job DescriptionLHH is working with a Consulting company based in Boston that is looking to hire a Technical Environment Manager to join our team for a 1 year project. The role will be hybrid (3 days onsite). The ideal candidate will have experience working the Investment sector or Financial Services. Candidates MUST be local to the Greater Boston Area to be consider for this position. Our client based in Boston, MA is seeking a highly skilled, organized, and proactive Technical Environment Manager to lead the management and coordination of multiple complex technical environments supporting a large-scale investment management technology transformation within an OCIO framework. This critical role ensures the delivery of stable, scalable, secure, and compliant environments that enable the design, development, testing, and deployment of strategic investment management applications and platforms. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise, strong stakeholder management capabilities, and a solid understanding of investment business processes and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in the Investment Management domain, with specific expertise in data management, investment trading, and reporting systems. The role requires close collaboration with business users, stakeholders, and cross-functional technology teams to ensure the successful delivery of application architecture that supports investment strategies and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities Environment Oversight and Management • Lead the management and oversight of technical environments (development, integration, testing, staging, production, disaster recovery) supporting investment management workflows within an OCIO context., • Ensure environments are stable, scalable, secure, and compliant with industry regulations., • Manage multiple technology stacks and platforms, ensuring seamless interoperability, data integrity, and high availability., • Participate in strategic planning for environment delivery aligned with project phases, business priorities, and risk management objectives.Technology Infrastructure and Platform Coordination, • Collaborate with architecture and engineering teams, as well as third-party vendors, to design, implement, and maintain infrastructure supporting investment data ingestion, processing, analytics, and portfolio management., • Oversee deployment, configuration, and integration of investment management platforms, including proprietary systems and industry solutions such as State Street Alpha, FactSet, and Jacobi., • Develop and maintain monitoring and support capabilities to proactively address environment health, capacity, and security issues.Third-Party Vendor and Service Provider Management, • Manage relationships with critical technology vendors and partners, ensuring SLAs are met and performance aligns with business needs., • Coordinate vendor activities including upgrades, patches, and support escalations to minimize disruptions., • Participate in contract reviews, risk assessments, and vendor performance evaluations with procurement and legal teams.Risk, Compliance, and Security, • Ensure all environments comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies regarding data privacy, security, and operational risk., • Partner with cybersecurity teams to implement controls and monitor vulnerabilities specific to investment platforms., • Support incident response planning and root cause analysis for environment-related issues affecting investment operations.Process Improvement and Automation, • Lead continuous improvement efforts to enhance environment performance, reduce manual processes, and expand automation across provisioning, deployment, and monitoring activities., • Develop and maintain environment standards, documentation, and best practices tailored to investment management platforms.Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication, • Serve as a liaison between investment business groups, internal technology teams, and external vendors to ensure clear communication and coordinated execution., • Provide regular reporting on environment health, risks, and initiative progress to senior leadership., • Manage and escalate environment-related risks and issues to ensure timely resolution.Qualifications, • Proven experience managing complex technical environments in large-scale IT landscapes, including internal and SaaS applications supporting investment management or financial services., • Strong understanding of SDLC, testing processes, and environment provisioning tools., • Deep knowledge of investment management business processes., • Experience integrating diverse technology stacks and platforms in financial services., • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills., • Ability to coordinate multiple initiatives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment., • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with acute attention to detail.Preferred Qualifications, • Experience in Agile, DevOps, or CI/CD environments., • Familiarity with ITIL or similar IT service management frameworks., • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, including automation tools for environment provisioning and monitoring., • Prior experience in an OCIO or investment consulting environment.Additional Details, • Global program focusing on establishing a global operating model for investment management technology., • Technology transformation including new platform implementation, data lake development, and expanded reporting capabilities., • Operations-focused growth to help scale and streamline investment operations., • Involvement in DevOps, Azure, AWS, and investment-related application environments., • Strong emphasis on communication and organizational skills to collaborate effectively across teams.Pay Details: $55.00 to $65.00 per hour Search managed by: William Staadt Benefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and a 401K plan.
