Candidates will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting problems, performing emergency repairs and installing parts and upgrades as necessary. This position requires heavy work in an industrial environment. Paper Mill or very heavy industrial experience is a big plus. Selected employees will be required to join United Steel Workers Union upon their 45th working day. Primary Responsibilities include: • Put safety first in all tasks and situations: comply with all Mill policies and procedures, • Ability to read and work from prints, diagrams, schematics specification, instructions, operations manuals and manufacturer's manuals and specifications to perform scheduled and emergency repairs., • Safely use material-handling equipment including but not limited to Chain falls, chokers, forklifts, mobile and overhead cranes., • Take direction from work order system and complete work, including all required paperwork and data entry tasks., • High school diploma or GED required, • 5 years' experience in heavy industrial environment, journeyman-level experience as a millwright, pipe fitter, metal worker., • Thorough understanding of and compliance with codes and OSHA regulations, including arc flash, LOTO, fall protection, hot work and job hazard analysis., • Basic Hydraulics & Pneumatics; Blueprint reading., • Experience in rebuild and installation of the following:, • Pumps and agitator, • Gearboxes and Valves, • Experience installing the following:, • Roll Bearing and Bearing Housing, • Seal and packing, • sole plates, concrete, leveling and alignment, • conveyors, tracking, drives, rolls and splicing, • Heavy rigging knowledge, • Welding and fabrication skills Preferred Qualifications • Tig, Mig and Stick welding experience, • Competent in light electrical work required to support Mill needs, • Work space is not climate controlled and can reach both hot and cold extremes. (20 to 110 degrees Fahrenheit), • Frequent exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, • Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and vibration, • Exposure to a consistently loud work environment, • Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing stairs/ladders and the ability to stand /walk for 8-12 hours.

You will collaborate with other team members and provide technical guidance to apprentices and other field personnel. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are executed according to specifications and safety regulations. Key Responsibilities: • Coordinate with the Superintendent/Foreman: Work closely with the Superintendent/Foreman to determine the most efficient methods for completing assigned and special projects., • Material and Equipment Management: Help assess and determine the material, tools, and equipment needed for the successful completion of each job, ensuring timely and accurate procurement., • Quality and Safety Assurance: Ensure adherence to quality and safety controls, maintaining a safe work environment and delivering projects with zero time lost due to accidents or safety incidents., • Care and Maintenance of Company Property: Take responsibility for the proper use and care of all company-issued vehicles, equipment, and tools, protecting them from damage, deterioration, or theft. Ensure that all company property is kept clean and well-maintained., • Training and Development: Assist in the development and training of field personnel on proper installation procedures, promoting a high level of professionalism and safety awareness among the team., • Technical Consultation: Provide technical support and advice to apprentices, technicians, designers, and shop employees to resolve issues and maintain high installation standards., • Additional Duties: Respond to other responsibilities assigned by the Labor Supervisor and/or Project Foreperson, contributing to team success and project efficiency., • REQUIRED: 3 or more years of experience installing sprinkler systems, • Preferred: 5 or more years of experience installing sprinkler systems, • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings., • Skilled in the use of tools and equipment related to sprinkler fitting and fire protection systems., • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and diagnostic abilities., • Demonstrated ability to work safely in accordance with OSHA regulations and company safety protocols., • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively with team members, apprentices, and management., • Capable of lifting heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) and working in a variety of environments, including confined spaces and elevated areas., • Ability to take initiative and complete tasks with minimal supervision., • Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Job Description We are looking for a well rounded welder/fabricator who is knowledgeable in all facets of welding, cutting and fabricating. You must be familiar with all common ferrous and non-ferrous materials. You must know and be familiar with the many different filler wires and electrodes and when to use them. We provide you with up to date welding equipment and all the heavy equipment to make the jobs possible.
