Job Description Pastry Cooks at the Whitewater Center (Whitewater) are responsible for supporting the daily operations of the kitchen. Pastry Cooks will ensure that pastry recipes, food preparations, and presentations meet the restaurant’s specifications and quality standards while maintaining a safe, orderly, and sanitized kitchen. This role is responsible for executing established recipes, assisting with daily specials, and helping develop and test new menu items. This position is an on-site, full-time, benefits eligible position that reports to the Pastry Chef. Responsibilities • Work under the direction of the Pastry Chef to execute established recipes with precision and consistency., • Assist in the preparation and production of daily specials, seasonal offerings, and new menu items., • Ensure all products meet quality and presentation standards., • Maintain a clean, organized and sanitary workplace in compliance with health and food-safety regulations., • Operate bakery equipment safely and correctly., • Demonstrate ethical and professional behavior in and out of the workplace., • Other duties as assigned. Requirements • At least 1 year of experience as a Pastry Cook, Baker, or in a similar professional kitchen role., • Knowledge of basic culinary math, including measurements, scaling, and conversions., • Strong attention to detail, consistency, and organization., • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and accuracy., • Must be able to safely self-transport over uneven terrain or in a confined space., • Must be able to bend, lean, stand, and kneel on a regular basis and for sustained periods of time., • Must be able to lift and move at least 25 pounds., • Must be able to work outdoors for sustained periods of time and in all weather and environmental conditions., • Must be able to work in shared spaces with other employees and customers., • All positions at Whitewater require employees to report and work onsite at Whitewater locations.
