Job Description ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY: SENIOR ACCOUNTING MANAGER (Accounting Manager) HYBRID Are you an experienced Senior Accounting Manager with Manufacturing, CPG, or Food & Beverage experience looking to make another historical organizational impact? Or, perhaps, an early-career Accounting professional prepared to spread your wings and tackle the next big step in your career? We are a rapidly growing food-focused CPG small business that is exponentially expanding operations to keep up with increased demand from our loyal online customers, specialty retail purveyors, newly signed regional and national grocery chains. As our new Accounting Manager you’ll design and manage the systems and processes that keep our flour flowing from field to shelves, bakery, or kitchen table. You’ll work closely with our CEO, Operations Director and the broader corporate accounting team to build efficient, resilient processes, accurate accounting systems, and ultimately build, lead, and develop the entire accounting team. You are in charge, responsible for the financial management, monitoring, and compliance. You will direct, build, and optimize our internal accounting processes, controls, and accounting team ensuring our financial strength and profitability continue to excel. You will lead accounting efforts staying ahead of demand, inventory, reporting requirements, costs & margins, communicating and inspiring the entire organization as well as external CPA & accounting support partners, customers, vendors, producers, and distribution partners. What You'll Do: • Full Cycle Accountant, • Anticipate & Lead Accounting Department Growth Strategy: You will be asked to grow and develop not only accounting processes, but understand how to build, develop, and lead an entire accounting team as current and anticipated future growth requires, • Accounts Payable: Vendor setup, payables entry, obtain & document proper approvals, payment reports & payment processing, aging tracking, • Accounts Receivable / Billing: Creation of billings, recording payments, aging tracking, • Inventory & Cost Control: Manage inventory valuations, track raw materials to finished goods, and lead annual physical inventory counts, • Production Cost Analysis: Analyze manufacturing variances (actual vs. standard costs), labor efficiency, and overhead allocation, • Financial Reporting & Closing: Perform month-end/year-end closing processes ensuring GAAP compliance for all plant-level financials. Work with outside CPA on yearly review or audit, • Budgeting & Forecasting: Partner with plant managers and outside CFO company to develop annual operating budgets and rolling monthly forecasts based on production schedules, • Internal Controls: Establish & enforce safeguards for plant assets, including fixed asset tracking & inventory reserves, • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Operations to incorporate market trends, promotions, product lifecycle changes into forecasts / planning & execution alignment, • Implement tools & technologies to improve accounting tracking and reporting efficiency What’s In It For You: • Senior Accounting Manager Base Salary $100k - 110k+, • Accounting Manager Base Salary $85k - $95k+, • Performance Bonus (10%) (50% Personal, 50% Company), • Health, FSA, Dental, Vision, Life Available, • Generous PTO, Wellness, Holidays, Sick Leave, • 401k Plan with employer match, • Streamlined structure: Report directly to the CEO, • Minnesota Based, • Hybrid (after onboarding, minimum 3 days in office), • Minimal Travel Required To Be Successful, You Should Have: • You must be authorized to work in the United States (no sponsorship provided), • Bachelor’s Degree highly preferred: Accounting or Finance related desired, • Full Cycle knowledge & experience, desire to do lower end and higher end accounting work with little to no addition support in house initially, • Knowledge, Ability, and Desire to build out an entire accounting department, required, • 5-10+ years of Accounting experience, required, • 3+ years of Accounting experience in manufacturing, industrial, CPG, e-comm, highly preferred, • 3+ years of Accounting leadership experience, highly preferred, • Experience with Quickbooks, Fishbowl, Shopify, Amazon, Amplifi, G&A PEO is a plus., • Strong organizational skills with an eye for both details and big-picture systems, • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, highly intelligent, thought leader, team player, • Career history exhibiting steady progression of Authority, Responsibility, Accountability, • Career history exhibiting excellent loyalty & job stay (4+ year average), • Strong leadership, relationship-building, & client-facing skillsCompany DescriptionWe are a rapidly growing food-focused CPG small business that is exponentially expanding operations to keep up with increased demand from our loyal online customers, specialty retail purveyors, newly signed regional and national grocery chains.We are a rapidly growing food-focused CPG small business that is exponentially expanding operations to keep up with increased demand from our loyal online customers, specialty retail purveyors, newly signed regional and national grocery chains.
