Job Description We’re partnering with a rapidly growing fiber network provider to hire an experienced Fiber Optic Splicer / Inspector to support large-scale network builds and critical infrastructure projects. This is a hands-on field role for someone who takes pride in precision work, enjoys complex fiber environments, and wants long-term stability with a company investing heavily in its network and people. What You’ll Be Doing In this role, you’ll be responsible for installing, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting fiber optic networks across outside plant (OSP) and inside plant (ISP) environments. Key Responsibilities Include: • Perform fusion and mechanical fiber splicing across single-mode fiber (up to 864-count) including loose tube and ribbon cable (armored and dielectric), • Install, test, and inspect fiber optic cable, splice enclosures, fiber panels, and connectors (APC/UPC – SC/LC), • Use OTDRs, light sources, and power meters to perform end-to-end testing, analyze trace routes, calculate splice loss, and identify faults, • Read and interpret fiber schematics, splicing diagrams, and network designs, • Calculate fiber attenuation values and verify network performance, • Support fiber installation from manholes/handholes into buildings and through tight interior spaces, risers, and above raised ceilings, • Partner with field teams during cutovers and service turn-ups, • Complete service orders including cable assignments, optical equipment assignments, and plant records, • Participate in emergency after-hours dispatches as required, • Operate a full-size bucket truck and work safely at heights up to 40 feet We’re looking for someone who’s technically strong, safety-focused, and team-oriented.
