Job DescriptionJob Title: Packaging Technician Job Description The Packaging Technician supports the safe, accurate, and compliant packaging of pharmaceutical and clinical products in a GMP-regulated environment. This role involves operating manual and automated equipment, working in cleanroom and freezer environments, and maintaining precise documentation to ensure product quality and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities • Perform manual and automated packaging, labeling, filling, and assembly of pharmaceutical and clinical supply products in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)., • Operate, set up, and clean packaging and labeling equipment by following established procedures and documentation requirements., • Complete in-process inspections and quality checks, including verification of counts, weights, labeling accuracy, and product appearance., • Maintain accurate documentation such as room logs, equipment logs, batch records, and inventory counts., • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), safety policies, and cleanliness standards to ensure product integrity and regulatory compliance., • Perform cycle counts and component reconciliation to ensure accuracy and accountability of materials and finished products., • Support room and equipment cleaning and sanitization in compliance with SOPs and regulatory standards., • Use computer systems for job sign-in, data entry, and tracking in-process actions., • Collaborate with Quality, Production, and other departments to support inspections, audits, and production goals., • Identify and report deviations, quality concerns, or safety issues to leadership in a timely manner., • Work effectively in cleanroom and freezer environments while adhering to gowning and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.Essential Skills, • Strong hand–eye coordination, manual dexterity, and the ability to perform repetitive tasks with both hands., • Working mathematical skills, including counting, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and percentages., • Ability to interpret 2D diagrams and batch paperwork to ensure proper assembly of clinical supplies., • Ability to read, comprehend, and execute English work documents, including SOPs, work instructions, knowledge assessments, cGMP guidance, and safety procedures., • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to complete assigned tasks., • Capability to take initiative, follow through on commitments, and adapt to changing circumstances., • Willingness and ability to accept and learn from feedback, especially related to corrective or preventative actions., • Ability to work in primary, secondary, refrigerated (2 to 8°ree;C), and freezer (down to -20°ree;C) environments, including spending up to 80% of the day in a freezer if needed., • Ability to stand continuously, lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds, bend frequently, squat, and reach above shoulder level.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience working in a GMP-regulated or cleanroom environment is beneficial., • Familiarity with packaging, labeling, filling, and quality inspection processes in pharmaceutical or clinical supply settings., • Comfort using computer systems for sign-in, data entry, and tracking in-process activities., • Ability to follow detailed gowning procedures and work effectively while wearing PPE such as filtering face masks, N-95 masks, half-face masks, powered air-purifying respirators (PAPR), and safety glasses., • Interest in long-term growth opportunities within a structured production and quality-focused environment.Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical packaging facility that includes cleanroom, refrigerated (2 to 8°ree;C), and freezer (down to -20°ree;C) areas. Up to 80% of the workday may be spent in a freezer environment, so comfort working in cold conditions is essential. The position requires consistent use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to filtering face masks, N-95 masks, half-face masks, powered air-purifying respirators (PAPR), safety glasses, and full cleanroom gowning. The work involves standing for long periods, frequent bending and squatting, lifting up to 50 pounds, and reaching above shoulder level. Packaging Technicians work on structured shifts: a first shift from approximately 6:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m., a second shift from approximately 3:15 p.m. to 11:15 p.m., and a third shift from approximately 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., Monday through Friday. The environment emphasizes cleanliness, adherence to SOPs, and close collaboration with Quality and Production teams. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Allentown, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.55/hr.
