Job DescriptionJob Title: Maintenance Technician – Industrial Laundry Equipment Job Description This role focuses on maintaining and repairing industrial laundry equipment in a high-speed production facility. The Maintenance Technician works on boilers, tunnel washers, dryers, flatwork ironers, control systems, and related mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the plant. Responsibilities • Inspect, maintain, and repair industrial laundry equipment including tunnel washers, dryers, flatwork ironers, and open tunnel systems., • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on boiler systems, including boiler steam tunnels, to ensure safe and compliant operation within city requirements., • Troubleshoot and repair electrical components, including control boards, control panels, and related wiring., • Diagnose and resolve issues with valves, hydraulics, and mechanical systems to minimize downtime., • Conduct routine cleaning and upkeep of equipment to maintain performance and extend equipment life., • Perform troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance (PM) on washers, dryers, and boiler systems according to established schedules., • Use personal tools and provided equipment to complete maintenance tasks safely and efficiently., • Collaborate closely with the maintenance helper and production teams, including assemblers, drivers, sorters, finishers, folders, packers, and loaders, to coordinate repairs and minimize disruption to operations., • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage as required by facility procedures., • Support both electrical and mechanical maintenance tasks as part of the maintenance team., • Work overtime and weekends as needed to support production demands and respond to urgent maintenance issues., • Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE and compliance with facility safety policies.Essential Skills, • Active or qualifying eligibility for a Stationary Engineer 1st Grade or 2nd Grade License (boiler license) or the ability to meet the requirements to obtain it in order to work on boilers in the city of Houston., • At least 5+ years of hands-on experience working on washers, dryers, open tunnels, boilers, and hydraulic systems., • Proven experience in boiler maintenance, boiler repair, and boiler operation within an industrial or similar environment., • Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical systems, including control boards and control panels., • Demonstrated ability to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on industrial laundry equipment., • Capability to troubleshoot and repair valves, hydraulics, and mechanical components., • Ownership and regular use of personal tools suitable for industrial maintenance work., • Experience as a maintenance technician in environments such as hotels, hospitals, or bakeries, particularly with boiler systems., • Ability to work safely in a non-climate-controlled, high-speed production facility., • Willingness and availability to work a 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. shift with overtime and weekends as needed.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Background in hotel maintenance, hospital maintenance, or bakery maintenance, especially with boiler operations, is highly preferred., • Experience working in a high-speed production or manufacturing environment., • Comfort working closely with a small maintenance team and a larger onsite workforce of approximately 60–65 people., • Strong communication skills to coordinate with production workers and other departments, including forklift drivers., • Ability to adapt to varying temperatures and conditions within different areas of the facility., • Commitment to safety practices and consistent use of required PPE and dress code.Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a working production facility that operates at high speed and supports a large onsite team of approximately 60–65 people, including assemblers, drivers, sorters, finishers, folders, packers, loaders, and forklift drivers. The maintenance team is small, consisting of one primary technician plus a helper, and covers both electrical and mechanical maintenance functions. The environment is non-climate-controlled and can become very hot in the summer, which is why shifts start early; some areas of the facility can also become very cold. The standard shift runs from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with overtime and weekend work as needed. The facility provides all required personal protective equipment except for steel-toe footwear, which employees must supply. The dress code consists of steel-toe shoes, jeans, and a work shirt. This setting requires comfort working around industrial equipment, boilers, and high-speed production lines while maintaining a strong focus on safety and teamwork. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pasadena, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $37.00/hr.
