The pay range is $22-$26/hr depending on experience and includes benefits, PTO and 401k. Your Mission: * Perform site assessments, environmental sampling, and inspections for petroleum storage tank systems, fuel stations, and remediation sites. * Collect and analyze soil, groundwater, and vapor samples, following chain-of-custody and quality control protocols. * Support compliance inspections of USTs, ASTs, spill prevention equipment, and vapor recovery systems. * Conduct routine monitoring and testing of environmental systems (e.g., leak detection, sump sensors, interstitial spaces). * Document field activities, maintain accurate logs, sampling forms, GPS data, and photo records. * Assist with the installation and maintenance of remediation systems (e.g., air sparge, soil vapor extraction, groundwater treatment). * Ensure work is performed in accordance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations (e.g., EPA, state DEQ, RCRA, CERCLA). * Operate safely in hazardous environments, following procedures for HAZWOPER, confined space entry, and spill response. * Communicate with project managers, clients, and regulatory agencies regarding field conditions and test results. * Participate in emergency spill response or environmental clean-up efforts when needed. What You Bring to the Table: * Bachelor of Science in Biology, Geology, Chemistry, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Engineering, or similar required. * 1–5 years of experience in environmental fieldwork, ideally involving petroleum storage tanks, remediation, or regulatory compliance. * Experience with soil and groundwater sampling, vapor intrusion monitoring, or leak detection systems. * Familiarity with UST/AST system components, secondary containment, and environmental monitoring requirements. * Knowledge of environmental regulations such as EPA UST rules, SPCC, RCRA, or state-specific fuel storage laws. * Hands-on use of sampling equipment, PID/organic vapor analyzers, GPS devices, and field data collection tools. * Experience with remediation systems and basic mechanical skills for pump, tubing, or sensor installation. * Completed training in OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER, confined space entry, and spill response (or willing to obtain). * Ability to read and interpret site plans, monitoring reports, and environmental permits. * Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation, reporting, and regulatory record keeping. * Known for being safety-minded, dependable, and able to work independently in the field under varying conditions. Before You Leap: Some positions require travel and overnight stays. Travel expenses will be covered by Nwestco, LLC All job offers are contingent upon successful completion of the following: * Ability to pass pre-employment drug-screening and background check. * Ability to pass pre-employment physical with extensive lifting (up to 75 lb), twisting, pulling, kneeling, and squatting. * A valid driver's license with a clean driving record over the past 5 years required. * IMPORTANT: For positions classified as safety-sensitive, applicants are required to pass a comprehensive drug screening, which includes testing for marijuana, as a condition of employment. While marijuana use may be legal in some states where Nwestco operates, it is important to note that federal regulations and company policies mandate drug testing for all safety-sensitive roles, including those governed by the Department of Transportation (DOT).
