We are thrilled to launch our North Campus in the 26-27 school year, initially serving about 300 students in grades K4-6 and 9. Things like silly staff competitions, praise and worship sessions, team social events or learning a new skill like pickleball or gardening during a professional development day, we ensure our staff finds JOY with one another too!, • Develop and teach a cohesive K4–5 general music curriculum that inspires curiosity and joy through singing, movement, rhythm, and instrumental exploration., • Build and grow either a 6th-grade choir program focused on healthy vocal technique, ensemble skills, and developing confidence and joy in group music-making, or a 6th-grade strings/orchestra program introducing students to string instruments, ensemble playing, and foundational orchestral skills., • Establish a 9th-grade choir or strings/orchestra program that will anchor a growing secondary music program, support the long-term vision for a vibrant music program., • Engage young learners using Orff, Kodály, Dalcroze, or similar methodologies, emphasizing creativity, play, and foundational musicianship., • Teach and inspire students in a way that nurtures musical skill development, expression, and lifelong appreciation for music., • Build musical literacy by teaching students to listen, perform, compose, and respond to a variety of musical styles and traditions., • Introduce students to a variety of age-appropriate instruments, vocal practices, and musical experiences., • Create a classroom environment where students explore, collaborate, and create as musicians, building both technical skill and expressive voice., • Build trusting relationships with students so each child feels known, seen, and loved., • Serve as a cultural and spiritual role model, demonstrating God’s love through words, actions, and relationships., • Support students’ character development by modeling and reinforcing the Aug Prep Way: serving in love with integrity, respect, courage, and perseverance., • Encourage students to take creative risks, celebrate one another’s gifts, and contribute positively to the classroom community. Professional • Collaborate with the Arts Team to support interdisciplinary learning, shared arts events, and meaningful performance experiences across grade levels., • Partner with classroom teachers to connect music learning to broader school themes, celebrations, and community-building opportunities when opportunities arise, • Communicate proactively and consistently with students, families, and colleagues, providing updates on learning, progress, and upcoming performances or events., • Work collaboratively and supportively with colleagues, supervisors, students, parents/guardians, and community members, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment., • Participate in school-wide celebrations of creativity, including concerts and Arts Live events that highlight student joy and growth., • Showcase students’ musical achievements to honor learning, build pride, and strengthen the presence of the arts within the school community., • Monitor and support students during morning arrival, lunch, recess and dismissal., • Belief in the creative ability of every child and a commitment to ensure excellence for each student., • Degree in Music Education or related field, with experience teaching elementary general music preferred, including any other requirements for accreditation (Master’s degree a plus).
