Essential Functions 20% - Assigns, directs, and oversees the daily activities of student workers and temporary staff, providing guidance and support to ensure tasks are completed accurately and efficiently. Monitors performance, offers training as needed, and coordinates workloads to optimize team productivity and maintain smooth laboratory operations. 20% - Prepares, organizes, and maintains all necessary equipment, tools, and materials for AMT, UAS, and AET classes, ensuring that all instructional resources are readily available, properly calibrated, and in good working condition prior to each session. Coordinates with instructors to anticipate needs and adjusts preparations accordingly. 20% - Oversees the inspection, routine maintenance, and repair of all laboratory and hangar equipment, establishing preventative maintenance schedules and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Troubleshoots equipment issues and coordinates with external service providers when specialized repairs are required to minimize downtime. 20% - Manages the procurement and inventory control process for materials and supplies related to aircraft maintenance and laboratory operations. Reviews inventory levels regularly, communicates with vendors to obtain competitive pricing and timely delivery, and initiates purchase orders while adhering to budgetary constraints and institutional policies. 20% - Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment in the laboratory, tool room, and hangar areas by establishing and enforcing cleaning schedules, monitoring adherence to safety protocols, and conducting regular inspections. Promotes best practices in workplace housekeeping to support operational efficiency and safety compliance. Minimum Qualifications Associate's degree from a regionally accredited institution, four years of directly related full-time experience such as providing assistance to students in an instructional setting; and/or preparing, maintaining and delivering equipment, supplies or other related instructional materials used for laboratory activities including two years of lead work or senior level experience. OR An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered. Desired Qualifications 1. Familiar with aircraft terminology, 2. Knowledge of Aircraft support equipment & supplies, 3. Ability to move airplanes in the hangar and in and out, 4. Reading and interpreting aircraft manuals, 5. Airframe and Powerplant certificate, 6. Be able to Weld, 7. Be able to help design and build up training mock ups, 8. One year of relevant full-time MCCCD experience during the previous two years Experience within other community college systems or higher education institutions is valued and may be considered in addition to MCCCD experience.
