Job Description POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Vice President, Research and Development reports to the Chief Development Officer (CDO) and leads and oversees activities related to all preclinical asset and IND-enabling activities including process chemistry/ manufacturing and controls (CM&C), technical transfer, radiobiology, preclinical imaging and discovery chemistry. The role will require strong leadership in CMC integration from Tech Transfer to Regulatory Submission The scope of the position covers three major areas: • Internal and collaborative efforts related to the development of radiopharmaceutical drug products, and technical support to production, regulatory, and commercial teams;, • Multi-disciplinary leadership expertise overseeing all aspects of novel radiopharmaceutical products, especially CMC activities;, • Relationship and strategic management of projects, both internally and externally facing. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: • Direct product development and process activities both internally within Nucleus RadioPharma and coordinating with customers onsite/virtual;, • Establish priorities and the daily technical efforts related to product development (both chemistry and biology/imaging) and innovation;, • Work with leadership team to build technical capabilities to meet future radiopharmaceutical drug product needs (alternate isotopes, targeting agents, delivery systems, etc.), • Provide technical leadership and direction to ensure successful tech transfer of products from development to GMP manufacturing;, • Direction of staff to meet scheduled product development and project timelines;, • Provide technical and hands-on direction to resolve technical issues;, • Integration of pre-IND capabilities and the teams conducting the work to the needs of the customer;, • Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS: • PhD or MD/PhD in Chemistry or Engineering or equivalent experience required., • 10+ years experience in drug product development required., • 10+ years experience in project management required., • 10+ years experience managing and directing a team required., • Experience with radiopharmaceutical drug products., • Strong project management, change management and organizational skills., • Proven creditability to foster, motivate and influence positive behaviors within a team., • Strong communication, business acumen, and an aptitude for problem solving and consensus building., • Ability to create, format, analyze and share information using logical, statistical, and mathematical function., • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, set priorities effectively and problem solve, including early identification of issues/problems that may arise., • Excellent communications, interpersonal and collaboration skills, and ability to interact professionally with a wide range of individuals and organizations., • Ability to work as a team member, socialize ideas and build successful working relationships., • Analytical with an ability to problem-solve, and strong technical proficiencies in Microsoft Office products, and familiarity with leading project management software tools and software., • Ability to work independently with minimal direction, and drive deliverable through to completion by deadlines provided., • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and commitment to high quality work., • Extended hours, shift and weekend work, and travel may be required from time to time. The salary range in Minnesota is $300,000- $330,000 per year. Please note that compensation may vary outside of this range depending on several factors, including but not limited to a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location.
