Job DescriptionProduct Development Manager • Project Management, • Process incoming Design Cards and work with Director and Production Manager to finalize any missing information such as measurements and design details, • Request outstanding design elements from Design as needed, • Coordinate and communicate any updates across all relevant parties as needed, including Design, PD, and internally, • Identify and coordinate all raw materials and components for all projects, working with PD, Design and/or internal team managers, • Lead and direct pass off meetings for new projects with relevant team members, passing off design cards, materials, deadlines, workflow directives and any relevant project details or call outs for each project, • Update design cards as changes occur, making sure all relevant team members receive most recent copies, • Coordinate with team leads to manage delivery timeframes with team members and chase to ensure deliverables on all projects, communicate any delays to Director, PD and Design, • Communicate any delays resulting from raw material delivery that may impact project deliverables, • Implement and manage strategies to improve workflow and efficiency, • WIP Management, • Populate WIP with all new projects, updating as edits occur and priorities shift, • Weekly distribution of WIP to PD and Design, • Daily distribution of WIP to team - Director and relevant team managers - or as any updates occur, • Update completed WIP with sample photos and maintain accurate post production quantities and notes for monthly and year end totaling, • Coordinate completed WIPs at mid year and year end with Operations Director, • Record Keeping, Archiving & Documentation, • Photograph completed samples, • Manage sample image archive on company computers by keeping files organized and clearly labeled, • Maintain digital files of all Design Cards for reference and to track for future pattern needs, • Support pattern file organization and maintenance, coordinating with Production Manager, • Support 3D file organization and maintenance, coordinating with 3D Manager, • Sample Follow Up, • Support sample review process by calling out quality issues or misses and communicate with relevant team manager and team members to make edits and correct files, • Communicate all quality call outs and comments to Design and PD ahead of sample delivery to ensure alignment on quality issues, • Inventory Management & Shopkeeping, • Collaborate with Production Manager and Floor Operations Supervisor on a digital Raw materials inventory for Leather, Fabric, Hardware, Trim, etc, to maintain a digital inventory, • Support and coordinate with Floor Operations Supervisor by providing inventory counts for raw materials, • Manage physical inventory and organization, place orders, track and restock all shop materials across all business needs and functions, • Place all raw material and parts orders across all teams, • Communicate and coordinate with Operations Director for budget approvals on large orders, • Support Floor Operations Supervisor and 3D Manager in organization and restocking of raw materials as needed, • Coordinate with Floor Operations Supervisor to schedule mechanic and various service appointments for all operations, • Schedule and track other shop service appointments as necessary, • Staff Coordination, • Coordinate staff schedules when overtime is needed, communicate to Operations Director and record on calendar, • Coordinate meals for overtime workers as needed, • Coordinate transportation home for staff working overtime, • Process and record staff PTO on calendar Required skills • Must be experienced and proficient in creating and managing Excel spreadsheets, knowledge of VBA or natural language programming is a strong plus, • Must be highly organized with excellent communication skills, • Adept in leading and directing meetings, giving workflow directives and chasing deliverables of team members, • Skilled at follow up and reminders, keeping things on track, • Capable of juggling multiple tasks as well as pivoting focus when priorities shift, • Efficient, focused, and self driven, • Thoughtful and intentional, anticipates instead of reacting, • Calm and focused during peak deadlines, able to keep team on track
