Job DescriptionJob Title: Mechanical Assembly Technician Job Description The primary function of this position is to perform light to complex mechanical and electronic assembly tasks. This role includes the repair, assembly, or disassembly of various devices and requires hand soldering skills. Responsibilities • Supervise and support the mechanical assembly team, including rework personnel., • Ensure daily and weekly production schedules are met with efficiency and quality., • Monitor workflow, assign tasks, and adjust priorities as needed., • Train, coach, and mentor assembly staff to meet performance expectations., • Enforce safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment., • Identify and address quality issues, ensuring compliance with IPC-A-610 standards., • Collaborate with other departments such as engineering, quality, and logistics to resolve issues and improve processes., • Perform quality work checks to ensure products meet quality standards., • Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes., • Inspect and test completed units, interpret process instructions, blueprints/drawings, and schematics., • Adjust and grind down parts if necessary, and position and fasten units to assemblies and subassemblies., • Fasten cables and wiring, solder electrical components, and test the finished product.Essential Skills, • Proficiency in mechanical and electronic assembly., • Experience with hand tools, such as screwdrivers, wrenches, power drills, and rivet guns., • Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and schematics., • Knowledge of IPC-A-610 standards., • Capability to work on complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Knowledge of PC board assembly., • Experience in process improvement., • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds., • Capability to walk the shop floor.Why Work Here? The shop area requires personal protective equipment due to exposure to airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, machines, and material handling vehicles. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richardson, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
