Job Description Job Title: Quality Technician Job Description The Quality Technician ensures that products and processes meet established quality standards by performing inspections, tests, and audits throughout production. This role reviews specifications, oversees operational processes, identifies defects in goods and materials, and contributes to continuous improvement of efficiency and accuracy in manufacturing operations. Responsibilities • Perform regular in‑process audits to confirm that production processes and products comply with established quality standards and specifications., • Run required tests such as dimensional, impact, burst, crush, and other pertinent or requested tests to verify product performance and integrity., • Ensure all inspection and testing equipment is properly calibrated and that daily plausibility checks are performed, documented, and maintained., • Maintain accurate records of analyses, test results, audit findings, and all other quality documentation in an organized manner., • Lead quality training for new hires and provide ongoing quality training for production clerks to reinforce standards and procedures., • Support production teams by troubleshooting quality issues on the lines and helping to identify root causes and corrective actions., • Manage sample requests and returns, including handling and evaluating field return samples for quality concerns., • Support material trials by participating in testing and evaluation of new or modified materials and documenting results., • Communicate quality issues, nonconformances, and trends clearly and promptly to production and quality assurance teams., • Perform application testing in accordance with functional requirements to ensure products meet intended use and performance criteria., • Gather, organize, and track testing metrics, including defects and issues, to support quality assurance and continuous improvement activities., • Coordinate and perform quality assurance activities for release cycles to ensure products are ready for shipment or deployment., • Manage and maintain test plans and test cases to align with quality objectives and ensure comprehensive coverage of requirements., • Ensure proper maintenance and readiness of QA test environments, tools, and equipment used in inspection and testing., • Perform incoming inspections on materials and components to verify they meet required specifications before use in production., • Assist with test automation efforts by contributing to the design, execution, and maintenance of automated test procedures where applicable., • Perform QA inspections in the PAD reject area, reviewing rejected products and documenting findings to support corrective actions. Essential Skills • Hands-on experience with quality inspection processes, including visual and dimensional inspection of products and materials., • Proficiency in using measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and other precision instruments to verify dimensions., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, complex construction plans, and technical specifications., • Strong understanding of quality assurance and quality control principles and practices in a production or construction-related environment., • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and manage deadlines effectively in a fast-paced setting., • Exceptional attention to detail with a high standard for accuracy, organization, and documentation., • Clear and effective communication skills to collaborate with colleagues across production and quality teams., • Ability to write clear, concise reports and documentation using Microsoft Word and Excel., • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly Word and Excel, for reporting and data analysis., • Capability to work with a fast-paced team in an aggressive, deadline-driven environment., • Knowledge of NSF standards and certifications and how they apply to product and process quality., • Strong ability to multitask, work independently under pressure, and meet tight deadlines., • Ability to define and troubleshoot issues, analyze and interpret data, evaluate options, and recommend appropriate actions., • Ability to create clear, concise test plans and test cases based on written specifications or verbal instructions. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience with measuring, assembly, and inspection activities in a manufacturing or construction environment., • Familiarity with bug tracking or issue tracking processes to support testing and quality activities., • Experience coordinating QA activities across release cycles or project phases., • assisting with test automation initiatives or interest in developing automation skills., • Strong organizational skills for managing samples, returns, and quality documentation., • Comfort working both independently and as part of a cross-functional team focused on continuous improvement. The pace is fast and deadline-driven, requiring comfort in an active, hands-on setting and the ability to adapt to changing priorities on the production floor. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Duncanville, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.35 - $20.35/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
