The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading employees involved in the fabrication and production of stainless-steel medical equipment while ensuring daily production requirements are achieved safely, efficiently, and in accordance with MAC Medical's quality standards. This position requires a strong understanding of sheet-metal fabrication and manufacturing processes, including cutting, forming, bending, welding, grinding, finishing, assembly, and related production operations. The ideal candidate is a visible, hands-on leader who is comfortable spending significant time on the production floor, developing employees, solving problems, removing production barriers, and holding the team accountable for safety, quality, productivity, and attendance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Provide day-to-day leadership and supervision of production employees within sheet-metal fabrication and related manufacturing areas., • Coordinate daily production activities to meet established schedules, priorities, quality requirements, and customer commitments., • Ensure employees have the materials, equipment, tooling, drawings, and information necessary to complete assigned work., • Monitor production flow throughout fabrication, welding, finishing, and assembly operations and address issues that may impact production., • Supervise sheet-metal manufacturing processes involving stainless steel and other materials., • Maintain a strong working knowledge of fabrication processes such as cutting, punching, bending/forming, welding, grinding, finishing, and assembly., • Review production drawings, work instructions, specifications, and job requirements with employees as needed., • Work closely with Production Planning, Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, Maintenance, and other departments to resolve manufacturing issues., • Identify production bottlenecks, equipment concerns, material shortages, quality issues, and other barriers and take appropriate action to minimize downtime., • Monitor employee productivity and workmanship and provide coaching, training, and corrective direction when expectations are not being met., • Ensure employees follow established quality procedures and immediately address nonconforming or questionable product., • Promote proper material handling and protection of stainless-steel surfaces throughout the manufacturing process., • Ensure production equipment, tools, and work areas are maintained appropriately and escalate maintenance concerns when necessary., • Enforce company safety policies, procedures, PPE requirements, and safe work practices., • Conduct regular floor observations and proactively identify unsafe conditions or behaviors., • Investigate production, safety, quality, and workflow issues and assist in developing corrective actions., • Assign employees based on production priorities, skill levels, workload, and staffing requirements., • Monitor attendance, overtime, timekeeping, and employee performance., • Provide ongoing coaching and development to production employees and leads., • Participate in interviewing, onboarding, training, performance management, and disciplinary processes., • Encourage cross-training to improve workforce flexibility and production coverage., • Promote teamwork, accountability, professionalism, and respectful communication throughout the department., • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, workflow, waste reduction, and efficiency., • Utilize Lean manufacturing principles and tools such as 5S, standard work, visual management, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement., • Track and communicate production performance, delays, quality concerns, staffing issues, and other key operational information to management., • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications • High school diploma or GED required; technical training or additional education in manufacturing, fabrication, welding, or a related field preferred., • Minimum of 3–5 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in sheet-metal fabrication, metal fabrication, or a similar production environment., • Previous supervisory, lead, or manufacturing leadership experience strongly preferred., • Hands-on knowledge of sheet-metal fabrication processes and equipment., • Experience working with stainless steel strongly preferred., • Knowledge of fabrication processes such as laser cutting, punching, press brake forming, welding, grinding, finishing, and assembly preferred., • Ability to read and understand manufacturing drawings, blueprints, work instructions, and production specifications., • Experience working in a quality-driven manufacturing environment., • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus., • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills., • Demonstrated ability to coach employees, address performance concerns, and hold team members accountable., • Strong organizational and communication skills., • Ability to effectively prioritize production requirements in a fast-paced manufacturing environment., • Basic computer skills and experience using manufacturing, ERP, HRIS, or production reporting systems. Leadership Expectations The Production Supervisor is expected to be an active presence on the manufacturing floor. Physical Requirements This position requires regular presence in a manufacturing environment and the ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. Duties may include prolonged standing and walking, bending, reaching, and occasional lifting or movement of materials associated with the production environment. Work Environment This position works primarily in a manufacturing environment involving sheet-metal fabrication, welding, machinery, material handling equipment, and other production operations.
