American Traveler is seeking a travel MRI Technologist for a travel job in Charlotte, North Carolina. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: MRI Technologist, • Discipline: Allied Health Professional, • Start Date: 04/13/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 40 hours per week, • Shift: 10 hours, nights, • Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview • Shift: Nights, 4x10hrs, • Hours: 40 hrs/wk, • Start Date: Apr 13, 2026, • Length: 13 weeks, • Work in the MRI department of a 244-bed community hospital in Charlotte, NC, • Facility offers a full radiology suite including X-Ray, CT, Ultrasound, MRI, Interventional Radiology, and Nuclear Medicine with Radiology Nursing support, • Department serves ED, inpatient, observation, and outpatient patient populations, including a large volume of medical device patients, • Anesthesia-assisted cases are performed as needed; cardiac imaging is not performed, • Department averages approximately 23 studies per day, with higher volume on weekdays, • 12-hour night shifts, Monday–Thursday, 8:30 PM–7:00 AM (48 hours/week), • Weekend rotation: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, • No on-call or call-back requirements, • No floating required, • Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays, • EMR: Epic (with Epic Radiant RIS); Epic experience is required, • PACS: Philips iSite, • Equipment: GE 1.5T SIGNA Artist 450WRequirements, • Minimum of 1 year of MRI experience, with most recent experience within the last year, • ARRT(R) or NMTCB, plus ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT required, • Current BLS required, • Active license required, if applicable, • Experience with Epic EMR required, • Candidate's permanent address must be 50+ miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted, • 1 professional reference dated within the past year, from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN, • Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for considerationAdditional Information, • Verify and reconcile patient orders with the Radiologist or ordering provider prior to performing exams, • Conduct patient interviews to obtain full medical history and review inpatient, ED, and outpatient EMRs for pertinent clinical information, • Prepare and administer IV contrast per departmental protocols and document contrast administration in the MAR, • Evaluate image quality and consult with a Radiologist as needed, • Assist anesthesia and other medical personnel during MRI-guided procedures, • Maintain and apply MRI safety protocols for staff, patients, and visitors in and around magnetic fields, • Initiate life support measures when necessary and notify nursing personnel of changes in patient condition, • Guest services and transport support are available for inpatient, observation, and ED patients; a tech assistant is on duty during overnight shifts, • Orientation includes 1 day of administrative onboarding (Epic, eLearnings, policy review) plus 2 days to 1 week of departmental orientation as needed, • Black scrubs required; free parking is available on-site, • First-time travelers will be considered for this position, • Candidates who have worked a permanent position at an Advocate Health Southeast facility must have been separated for at least 1 year to be eligible With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
