Job Description Talent Source & Recruiting Find the people we haven’t met yet. Make sure they notice us when we do. TheHomeMag® is looking for someone who knows that great sales candidates rarely arrive neatly packaged in an application queue. We need a resourceful researcher and engaging first contact who can find promising salespeople, spark their interest, and introduce the strongest prospects to our hiring leaders. We also need someone who wants our recruiting ads to be the ones candidates respond to. Internally, we’ll refer to you as our People Lead Generator. You’ll work closely with our SVP of Human Resources, Margaret Pace, to keep her and our market leaders in conversation with real potential hires, especially experienced salespeople who weren’t looking for our job posting. What You’ll Own You’ll build and maintain a pipeline of sales talent & team support across our markets. That means going well beyond posting jobs and reviewing applications. You’ll: • Map the companies, industries, and sales roles in each market that could produce strong candidates for TheHomeMag., • Find potential candidates through LinkedIn, job board databases, professional networks, referrals, public information, and other useful sources., • Study competitors and adjacent businesses to understand where successful field salespeople may be working today., • Search our past applicants and existing contacts for people worth reconnecting with., • Bring proven AI prompting skills to the search. Use AI to cut through crowded databases and repetitive work, uncover promising candidates, sharpen research, and create thoughtful outreach., • Reach out to people who may never have heard of TheHomeMag and give them a compelling reason to talk., • Have warm, thoughtful initial conversations to understand their experience, interests, and potential fit., • Present Margaret and our hiring leaders with useful context on each promising person—not just a résumé and a name., • Track outreach, follow-ups, conversations, and next steps so good prospects don’t disappear., • Help manage postings, incoming applicants, interview coordination, assessments, offers, and onboarding as needed. You may conduct few formal interviews and rarely meet candidates face-to-face. Your contribution is finding people, opening the door, and making the next conversation productive. Margaret and our hiring leaders own the hiring decisions. Make Our Ads the Ones People Answer You won’t simply place an ad and hope it works. You’ll look at the other opportunities competing for a candidate’s attention: their titles, promises, pay, language, and presentation. You’ll learn what makes a strong salesperson stop scrolling and what makes them move on. You’ll help us write and improve recruiting ads that make the opportunity at TheHomeMag clear and compelling. You’ll watch which ads attract qualified people, test better headlines and messages, and bring us ideas from what you see in the market. We want someone who takes it personally when another company’s ad does a better job of reaching the people we want. How You Think You see a market and wonder: Who is selling successfully here? Where do they work? How do I find them? What would make them willing to have a conversation? You know a job board is more than a place to post an opening. You’re comfortable searching databases, testing new search terms, following clues across the internet, and learning new tools. If one approach produces weak results, you try another. You’re also really good with people. You can make an unexpected call or message feel personal and worthwhile. You listen, build trust, and represent TheHomeMag well from the first interaction. Be Great at AI You’re already proudly proficient at prompting AI, and likely even show us how you use it better. You know how to turn a broad hiring need into effective searches, work through large candidate pools, connect clues across sources, and produce useful candidate research quickly. You also know how to use it to study competing job ads, develop stronger copy, and test different ways to reach the right people. You verify what AI produces and apply your own judgment. You use it to cut through the noise and inefficiencies of modern recruiting, reach the right people sooner, and spend more of your day having real conversations. Do excellent work. Work efficiently. Get home quicker. Experience That Could Give You a Head Start You might come from talent sourcing, recruiting, sales development, recruitment marketing, executive research, or another role built around finding and engaging people. Helpful experience includes: • Proactive sourcing and outreach, especially to people who have not applied., • Recruiting field-based B2B salespeople., • Searching LinkedIn, Indeed, ZipRecruiter, résumé databases, and other candidate sources., • Building target lists and mapping competitors or adjacent industries., • Writing job ads and improving them based on the candidates they attract., • Managing a disciplined prospect pipeline., • Using AI prompting to improve research, searches, outreach, advertising, and productivity., • Working with Culture Index or similar assessment tools. A traditional HR background is welcome, but it is not required. Your ability to find people, earn their attention, start conversations, and keep a strong pipeline moving matters most. How We’ll Measure Success We’ll look at the quality and movement of your pipeline: people identified, contacted, engaged, and advanced to meaningful conversations with our hiring leaders; then the hires that result. We’ll also look at whether our ads are attracting more qualified candidates and what you’re learning and improving along the way. Activity matters because a healthy pipeline takes consistent work. Candidate quality matters just as much. Additional HR Support You’ll also assist Margaret with recruiting logistics and selected HR work, including onboarding, offboarding, employee records, Culture Index coordination, and day-to-day HR needs outside payroll and benefits. Recruiting and talent sourcing are the center of this role. Sound Like You? If you’re the person who can find the right salesperson before they ever think to apply and make our ad the one they answer when they do, we want to meet you. Please know this is not a remote position. This position is located in our Cape Coral FL home office and is a Monday thru Friday, 8a - 5p role. Apply now, or if you’re the kind of person who makes the first move. \nCompany Description 65 Unique Markets • 27 States • 120 Million Magazines Mailed Annually TheHomeMag is a celebrated staple in the home improvement industry for over two decades, stands at the forefront of inspiring and empowering homeowners across the United States.
