Job Description Job Title: Line Maintenance Technician – Aircraft Engines Job Description This role focuses on post-lease inspections and line maintenance of commercial aircraft engines, with a strong emphasis on gear turbo fan (GTF) platforms and related models. You will perform detailed visual and borescope inspections, disassemble and assemble engines and sub-assemblies, and carry out maintenance, repair, and service tasks in an engine MRO environment. The position requires a solid understanding of aviation maintenance practices, adherence to regulatory requirements, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and airline customers. Responsibilities • Perform post-lease inspections, including detailed visual inspections and inventory of engine parts, and install parts required to upgrade engines., • Conduct borescope inspections, take precise measurements, and document findings to determine engine condition and serviceability., • Disassemble and assemble gear turbo fan engines, engine parts, and sub-assemblies in accordance with maintenance manuals and standard operating procedures., • Carry out routine and non-routine engine maintenance, inspections, repairs, and service tasks on commercial aircraft engines., • Apply a well-rounded knowledge of aviation maintenance to support line maintenance and flight line operations., • Interpret and work from technical drawings, maintenance manuals, operating procedures, and service bulletins to perform required tasks accurately., • Use fixed and variable measuring instruments to check and verify component dimensions and ensure compliance with specifications., • Complete, update, and maintain accurate records for all maintenance performed in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and other applicable regulatory requirements., • Develop and support internal service center procedures to ensure alignment with FAA and other regulatory agency standards., • Resolve customer in-service issues by diagnosing engine-related concerns and recommending appropriate maintenance or repair actions., • Foster a strong understanding of customer engine maintenance and repair preferences and incorporate these considerations into maintenance planning., • Communicate effectively with managers, field representatives, and airline mechanics, providing feedback, responding to concerns, and supporting collaborative problem-solving., • Minimum of 3 years of prior experience in aviation maintenance working with commercial aircraft engines., • High school diploma or associate’s degree, or other 2-year post–high school technical training, combined with a minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience., • Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license., • Powerplant license and the ability to obtain and maintain required licenses, operator permits, or certifications., • Hands-on experience with gear turbo fan (GTF) engines., • Experience working on commercial engines, preferably including V2500 and PW4000 models., • Strong knowledge of gas turbine engine hardware, line maintenance, and flight line operations., • Proficiency in borescope inspection techniques, including taking measurements and assessing engine component conditions., • Ability to interpret technical drawings and work from maintenance manuals and operating procedures., • Ability to use fixed and variable measuring instruments to check and verify dimensions., • Demonstrated capability to complete, update, and maintain maintenance records in compliance with FAA or other regulatory agency procedures., • Experience with V2500 engines., • Experience in engine overhaul or engine MRO operations., • Familiarity with post-lease inspections (PLI) and associated processes., • Experience executing service bulletins on aircraft engines., • Experience as an aircraft engine mechanic or engine maintenance technician., • Comfort working with borescope equipment from various manufacturers and interpreting measurement data., • Ability to analyze inspection findings to determine whether components are within limits and serviceable. Work Environment This position is based in an engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility focused on commercial aircraft engines, including gear turbo fan platforms and related models such as V2500 and PW4000. You will work around large gas turbine engines, specialized tooling, borescope equipment, and precision measuring instruments in a hands-on, technical setting. The role follows a Monday–Friday schedule with an eight-hour shift, and start times are flexible, typically around 6:00 a.m. or 7:00 a.m., as long as a full eight-hour day is completed. Overtime may be required as needed to meet operational demands. The environment emphasizes adherence to FAA and other regulatory standards, detailed documentation, and safe work practices appropriate for an engine shop and line maintenance operation. Appropriate work attire and personal protective equipment are required to ensure safety while working in and around engine hardware and tooling. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Irving, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $38.00/hr.
