Job Description Primoris Energy Services is seeking a Manager of Project Engineering to lead project-level engineering execution across complex industrial, power, civil, and water projects. This influential role partners directly with project and operations leadership to drive constructability, resolve technical challenges, and standardize engineering practices that improve safety, schedule, and cost performance. Position Summary The Manager, Project Engineering (Technical Services) provides functional leadership and oversight for Project Technical Services Managers, Project Construction Engineers, and Field Engineers across Primoris Energy Services’ operating divisions, including Industrial, Power Generation, Civil Site Development, and Water & Mechanical. While externally aligned to the market-recognized Project Engineering function, this role operates internally within Technical Services, serving as the corporate owner of project-level engineering execution. Working within a matrix organization, the Manager partners with project, division, and operations leadership to ensure consistent engineering standards, strong constructability practices, and effective technical support throughout project execution. Key Responsibilities Project & Field Engineering Leadership • Provide functional leadership for Project Technical Services Managers, Project Construction Engineers, and Field Engineers across active projects., • Establish consistent roles, responsibilities, and expectations for project-level engineering staff., • Support staffing strategies, onboarding, and deployment of engineering resources in coordination with operations and project leadership., • Support projects during planning and execution through:, • Constructability reviews, • Means & methods development, • Work sequencing and temporary works concepts, • Partner with project teams to resolve technical challenges impacting safety, quality, schedule, or cost., • Develop, maintain, and enforce project engineering and field engineering standards, procedures, and deliverables., • Ensure consistent application of engineering practices across projects while allowing appropriate project-specific flexibility., • Support identification and mitigation of technical and execution risks at the project level., • Partner with Quality and Safety teams to ensure engineering practices align with company standards and regulatory requirements., • Operate effectively as a functional leader within a matrix organization, influencing without direct project authority., • Collaborate closely with:, • Director of Technical Services, • Construction Technology Manager, • Construction Analytics, Data & Power BI Manager, • Division and project leadership, • Mentor and develop Project Engineers, Field Engineers, and Project Technical Services Managers., • Support career path development, training, and succession planning for engineering staff., • Provide functional input into performance development in coordination with project and division leadership. Qualifications Required • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline., • 10+ years of experience in project engineering, field engineering, or construction engineering within industrial, power, civil, water, or mechanical construction., • Proven experience supporting or leading project-level engineering teams across multiple projects., • Strong understanding of construction execution, constructability, and field operations., • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence within a matrix organizational structure., • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across field, project, and corporate teams., • Experience in a large, diversified contractor or EPC organization.
