Job Description Job Title: Production Supervisor – 2nd Shift Job Description The Production Supervisor oversees daily operations for 1–2 production lines, leading up to approximately 60 team members including associates, leads, and temporary staff. This role coordinates all production activities related to output, quality, and efficiency while ensuring full compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The Production Supervisor enforces people and food safety rules in alignment with USDA, OSHA, and BRC guidelines and plays a key role in training, coaching, and developing the production team on 2nd shift. Responsibilities • Supervise daily activities on 1–2 production lines, providing direction and support to a team of up to 60 associates, leads, and temporary workers., • Monitor production to ensure all products meet established specifications, quality standards, and company guidelines., • Oversee production to achieve daily schedule attainment for assigned lines and adjust workflows as needed to meet targets., • Maintain accurate records of team member attendance, disciplinary actions, promotions, and other personnel-related information., • Ensure proper staffing levels on all lines and communicate changes in staffing needs to leadership, staffing agencies, and HR as required., • Monitor material usage on production lines to prevent overuse or underuse of materials and support cost-effective operations., • Complete all production-related paperwork in accordance with company guidelines and USDA and BRC policies., • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly production reports as directed by leadership., • Participate in training team members on rules, regulations, safety procedures, job expectations, and best practices, including GMPs and continuous improvement initiatives., • Ensure all personnel wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow GMP requirements at all times., • Monitor the condition of production equipment and promptly notify maintenance of any needed repairs or issues., • Enforce company, USDA, OSHA, and BRC rules and regulations as outlined in applicable manuals and documents., • 3+ years of production experience, preferably in a GMP-regulated environment., • 2+ years of supervisory experience in a production or manufacturing setting., • Proven supervisory skills with the ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team of 30–60 individuals., • Hands-on ability to set up, operate, and troubleshoot production machines., • Experience in production supervision and production management within a high-volume environment., • Knowledge and application of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)., • Experience providing safety training and enforcing safety standards on the production floor., • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications., • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills for managing attendance, disciplinary actions, and other personnel documentation., • Ability to monitor and manage material usage to support efficient and cost-effective production., • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is a plus., • Experience working in a USDA- and OSHA-regulated production environment is highly beneficial., • Familiarity with BRC standards and food safety requirements is advantageous., • Experience participating in or leading continuous improvement (CI) initiatives is a plus. Work Environment This is a full-time 2nd shift position with hours from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with additional Saturday shifts during peak season. The role is based in a state-of-the-art food production facility that includes bakery, warehouse, packaging, and freezer areas. The bakery area can be hot due to ovens running, while the warehouse and packaging areas are cooler and the freezer area is kept at low temperatures. Team members follow strict GMP requirements and wear appropriate PPE, including hair nets, beard nets, hard hats, smocks, and steel-toe footwear. The environment is fast-paced, safety-focused, and quality-driven, requiring regular movement on the production floor and close interaction with both people and equipment.
