Job Description Job Title: Class A Driver Job Description This role is responsible for safely transporting and delivering deionized (DI) tanks and related equipment to a wide range of customer locations while providing excellent customer service. You will operate commercial vehicles and material handling equipment, manage loading and unloading activities, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure all safety and transportation regulations are followed. The position requires frequent heavy lifting, careful maneuvering of equipment in varied environments, and close collaboration with internal teams to meet customer needs. Responsibilities • Safely make deliveries and pick-ups to and from customers and vendors in a timely and efficient manner., • Deliver DI tanks, including 8"–Flomax units, with Class B drivers typically handling higher delivery volumes as needed., • Operate vehicles and equipment such as trucks, forklifts, and dollies in a safe and compliant manner., • Load, unload, and hook up or service DI tanks and related equipment at customer sites., • Transport multiple DI tanks at a time, maneuvering, pulling, and pushing units weighing up to 325 pounds., • Use a dolly to move tanks over uneven terrain, curbs, ramps, and through properties, including inside buildings, hallways, and freight elevators., • Deliver to diverse locations such as marinas and boat docks, including navigating long distances or ramps when required., • Complete large-volume tank exchanges or deliveries independently when support is not available., • Maintain accurate travel logs, complete vehicle inspections, and ensure delivery vehicles remain properly stocked with hoses, PVC parts, and tools., • Keep yard and warehouse areas organized, clean, and fully stocked with necessary materials and equipment., • Provide excellent customer service, addressing and resolving client concerns in a professional and courteous manner., • Follow all company and customer safety requirements and promptly report any mechanical issues or safety concerns., • Collaborate effectively with other departments to achieve shared operational and customer service goals., • Continue learning about purification equipment and water treatment theory to improve technical understanding and service quality., • Perform other related duties as assigned to support overall operations., • Valid Class A commercial driver’s license (CDL) with experience operating trucks, trailers, and tandem axle vehicles., • Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly while maintaining safety and compliance with transportation laws., • Demonstrated experience with loading, unloading, and heavy lifting, including maneuvering equipment weighing up to 325 pounds., • Skill in operating material handling equipment such as forklifts and dollies., • Strong English communication skills, both written and oral, to interact clearly with customers and internal teams., • Outstanding organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively., • Ability to read and understand pressure gauges and recognize when a system is under pressure., • Basic understanding of inlet and outlet connections and parts associated with a DI tank system., • Familiarity with PVC parts for DI tank systems, including QC light components and pressure relief valves., • Ability to memorize and correctly interpret DI tank color combinations and understand their meaning., • Proven ability to use logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions, draw conclusions, and determine appropriate approaches to problems., • Ability to effectively communicate and maintain positive relationships with internal and external partners while demonstrating tact, diplomacy, and calmness., • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, carrying out assignments to completion within given instructions, routines, and standard practices., • Maintain a positive, friendly, and supportive attitude and present a professional image at all times., • Experience delivering DI tanks or working with water purification systems., • Familiarity with the components and operation of DI tank systems and related purification equipment., • Comfort working in a proactively diverse and inclusive organization and contributing positively to that culture., • Experience completing vehicle inspections and maintaining delivery logs and documentation., • Experience in customer-facing roles that require problem-solving and conflict resolution. Work Environment You will spend much of your time inside a commercial truck, driving to and from customer locations and vendor sites. The role involves frequent work at industrial and commercial facilities, including hospitals, power plants, pharmaceutical plants, beverage manufacturing sites, marinas, and boat docks. You will regularly load and unload DI tanks and equipment in yards, warehouses, and customer locations, sometimes over uneven terrain, ramps, and through building interiors such as hallways and freight elevators. The environment requires consistent adherence to safety procedures and transportation laws, as well as the use of vehicles, forklifts, dollies, hoses, and PVC components. Work hours may include extended driving periods and regular travel, and you will collaborate closely with operations and warehouse teams in a setting that values organization, safety, and professionalism in appearance and conduct. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of San Jose, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $66560.00/yr.
