These relate to selection, orientation, training, assignment, staffing, discipline, and discharge of staff members. This is done in compliance with the organization's policies, state, and Federal labor laws., • Maintains adequate staffing levels to provide quality patient care. Delegates responsibilities as appropriate., • Ensures therapists maintain clinical skills for quality patient care. Ensures compliance with departmental policies, procedures, and standards set by state, Federal, the Joint Commission, OSHA, and other agencies., • Promotes the development of clinical studies and research by staff. Encourages and assists with program development to meet medical community needs. Develops strategies by attending meetings, associating with peers, and reviewing journals., • Develops and manages budget requests to ensure proper staffing, equipment, and supplies. This maintains quality, safe patient care while reducing expenses and increasing revenues., • Ensures that department records, manuals and directives are current and readily available for review. Prepares appropriate reports., • Serves as a staff resource and identifies opportunities for staff development. Provides knowledge and skills needed for organizational success., • Establishes a climate that reduces obstacles and promotes staff to improve personal and departmental performance., • Ensures that students and staff receive appropriate training and experience while upholding professional, medical and ethical standards., • Conducts staff meetings to expand professional knowledge and communicates operational needs., • Performs comprehensive patient evaluations upon receiving a consult to develop a care plan and treatment program. Reviews medical documentation and patient history. Selects and accurately performs appropriate tests and measures. Develops effective treatment plans and target goals with timeframes. Communicates the role of rehabilitative services to patients and significant others., • Develops effective programs, applies therapeutic methods, and administers interventions. Documents and communicates patient status and treatment with appropriate parties. Establishes rapport with patients professionally. Supervises, instructs, assists, and monitors patient performance and physical status. Evaluates the effectiveness of the program. Maintains effective communication with other patient care providers., • Utilizes staff effectively to implement the plan of care and achieve goals. Recommends medical equipment, orthoses, accessories, and supplies for managing the patient's disabilities, diseases, or wounds.Key Success Factors, • Leadership and supervisory skills required., • Demonstrated teaching and mentoring skills are preferred., • Must have excellent face-to-face skills and handle difficult people and situations. Ability to relate to patients, employees, coworkers, senior management, vendors, and the public., • Good problem-solving skills. QUALIFICATIONS • EDUCATION - Bachelor's, • EXPERIENCE - 3 Years of Experience Licensed Audiologist (AUDIOLOG), Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS), Occupational Therapist (OT), Psychologist (PSY), Physical Therapist (PT), Speech Language Pathologist (SLP): Must have one of the following: Occupational Therapist Physical Therapist Speech/Lang Pathologist Audiologist Lic Neuropsychologist/Psychologist Lic Therapeutic Recreational Spec Lic.
