Virtual Peace of Mind is seeking a licensed and experienced School Psychologist Assessment Specialist to conduct virtual psychological assessments for students referred through our statewide school-based mental health program. This role focuses exclusively on diagnostic evaluations, learning and behavioral assessments, and consultative support for educational planningensuring timely, high-quality evaluations for students in need of greater clarity regarding emotional, cognitive, and behavioral functioning. Ideal candidates will be detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and experienced in remote testing environments or adaptive virtual tools. This is a key role in expanding access to comprehensive psychological services for school districts across Virginia. Key Responsibilities: Psychological Assessment & Reporting • Conduct virtual psychoeducational evaluations, including cognitive, emotional, social, and behavioral components, • Utilize approved remote tools to administer assessments (e.g., BASC-3, WISC-V, Conners, Vineland, etc.), • Interpret assessment results to develop comprehensive integrated reports and recommendations, • Offer clear, practical feedback and evidence-based interventions aligned with school needs Consultation & Support • Collaborate with school teams (IEP, 504, MTSS) to clarify findings and contribute to educational planning, • Participate in eligibility meetings, re-evaluations, or multidisciplinary team conferences when needed, • Provide consultation to clinicians and educators on next steps following assessment Compliance & Documentation • Ensure assessments meet VDOE standards, IDEA criteria, and ethical practice guidelines, • Complete documentation within agreed-upon timelines, maintaining clear, FERPA/HIPAA-compliant records, • Participate in internal quality review processes to maintain consistency and compliance Qualifications and Preferred Experience: Licensure & Credentials • Specialist-level degree (Ed.S.) or doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in School Psychology from a NASP-approved or APA-accredited program., • Active, valid Virginia licensure or certification as a School Psychologist, with eligibility for telehealth practice in school settings. Clinical Experience • Minimum 2 years of experience working with children, adolescents, or school-aged populations, • Experience with school-based care and community mental health strongly preferred., • Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) credential preferred but not required., • Demonstrated expertise in psychological and educational assessment, data-driven intervention planning, and progress monitoring., • Knowledge of federal and state special education regulations, including IDEA, Section 504, and ADA compliance., • Experience in delivering counseling, crisis intervention, and consultation services to students, parents, and educational teams., • Strong skills in telehealth delivery, including the ability to adapt assessments and interventions for virtual platforms while maintaining rapport with students., • Commitment to cultural competence, equity, and trauma-informed practices in supporting diverse student populations., • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report writing, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and parent/school staff engagement.
