Job DescriptionDescription: Job Title: Director of SCCIC Location: Second Chance Center in the City FLSA Status: Exempt Reports to: Executive Director Effective Date: April 12, 2022 Job Summary: The Director of SCCIC leads, manages, and directs all transitional and supportive services for clients during both Pretrial and release from City and County of Denver Jails. Second Chance Center in the City is SCC ‘s first Reentry expansion program, which takes care of the Reentry needs of the Denver city and county jail returning citizens. Often these individuals have life challenges including victimization, poverty, unemployment, health conditions, disabilities, mental health conditions, criminal justice involvement, and substance use issues. This Director supervises the Peer Navigators and Care Managers who are responsible for providing direct assistance, support, and services to participants. The position is also responsible for the development and implementation of reentry resources, positive opportunities for participants, mentoring, participant assessments, transportation assistance, and any positive navigation for individuals who are pretrial status. The Director also requires extensive coordination with public, private, and nonprofit entities that assist with reentry, building strong relationships with participants and community resources. The Director is responsible for developing, planning, implementing, supervising, and monitoring all SCCIC staff, programs for participants, and implementing regulations and best practices. The Director provides support through advocacy, ongoing assessment and evaluation, service coordination and care planning. The primary focus of this position is to provide successful participant reentry, in coordination with SCCIC partners. The Director has a responsibility as part of the site leadership team to participate in the planning and implementation of strategies and programming that assures high quality services while achieving short and long-term operational goals and objectives for the programming. This dedicated program helps individuals who are released from Denver city or county jail connect to better housing, employment opportunities, industry approved training, vocational training, transportation assistance, behavioral health assistance (mental health, substance use treatment), food relief, care management, mentoring, sober living, harm reduction services, and many other services. Supervisory Responsibilities: • Oversees and directs all work to provide effective reentry programming., • Direct the activities of the staff provides clear objectives and support as needed, • Monitor performance of all supervised staff; conduct performance evaluations, • Serve as liaison between all partners and SCC staff, • Provide needed level of support to all supervised staff in various circumstances/settings to include emergency and crisis situations Duties/Responsibilities: • Prepare and manage the annual budget of the organization., • Maintain ongoing relationships with all the donors and look for new donors and sponsors., • Create reports to analyze and measure the progress of reentry programming, • Be an active participant in assigned fundraising programs., • Utilize goal-setting methods to identify services, resources, develop timelines, and partners to succeed in self-determined goals., • Build relationships with key stakeholders, community organizations and partners., • Support SCC with coaching, education, and advocacy., • Build professional relationships and networks with community resources and service providers across systems for the populations served., • Provide analysis transparently and collaboration to support participants to overcome challenges., • Facilitate access to services with knowledge of eligibility and program requirements, ensuring expedited and continued services and resources for participants to succeed., • Be a role model and teach self-advocacy skills., • Respectfully, explore the participant's personal barriers to completing all court, parole, probation, or other agency requirements and engaging with services needed to be successful., • Document and update referral sources on community needs including service and systems barriers, potential revisions of current processes and procedures impacting the individuals served., • Coordinates services with multiple systems as directed by participants. This may involve education and advocacy as well as systems navigation., • Monitor and record data, participation, connections, and outcomes for program evaluation and grant requirements., • Make sure staff documents work accurately for billing process and to ensure organization’s financial security, • Assure completion of employment-related information and care management-related documentation, • Provide technical support and direction to assure care management services are delivered, due process is followed, and confidentiality is maintained, • Maintain and model appropriate boundaries and effective interpersonal relationships with individuals in services, advocates, families, staff, other departments/companies, independent contractors, service agencies and others Required Skills/Abilities: • Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to effectively communicate with diverse persons in services, staff, families, and others, • Ability to facilitate and direct teams, • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate., • Strong supervisory and leadership skills., • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment., • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail., • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills., • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and ability to use, • these and other required programs at an intermediate to advanced level., • Ability to think and plan strategically, recognizing and acting on opportunities., • High-level organizational skills, capable of managing and prioritizing multiple tasks., • A willingness to learn new skills and test new approaches, • Management experience, • Having experience in managing and tracking the funds received from donors and analyzing the collected data, • Applied knowledge in basic principles of fund development, • Having the ability to execute fundraising events, • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills Education and Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in human services-related field required or equivalent education and experience, • Seven to ten years management experience required, • Working knowledge of management principles and their application, • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls., • Reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, talk, or hear., • The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies up to 20 pounds., • Reasonable accommodations in the work environment may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Position Type/ Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position that requires a minimum of 40 hours per week. This is a result driven position and is not paid overtime pay for hours worked over 40 hours a week. This is an in-office position, with some flexibility for scheduled remote work. Nights and weekend work is required. Compensation: Salary Range: $70,000-$85,000 annually, plus SCC Benefits package provided or all fulltime employees.
