Job Description Overview: Indiana Public Retirement System (INPRS’) is among the largest 100 pension systems in the United States. INPRS serves the needs of approximately over 500,000 members and retirees representing approximately over 1,400 employers, including public universities, school corporations, public safety, municipalities and state agencies. The Indiana Public Retirement System is a public pension fund who manages approximately over $50 billion in assets, making it one of the largest in the United States. We are located in the heart of the city, in downtown Indianapolis, near the circle & across the street from our monumental state house. This position will require Indiana state residency. Work Flexibility: We, like many employers, have worked in a hybrid schedule since 2022 and now have returned to the office 100% ( 5 days a week). That said, we do understand and recognize the importance of work/life balance and flexibility for our workforce. Some flexible options consist of: • Alternate Work Schedule; 1 or 2 days off a pay period by working an extra 1- 2 hours a day, • Ad Hoc Remote Work (Temporary); manager approved; 75 hours granted annually; 10 hours granted per pay period (use it or lose it - don’t roll over) work from home due to contractor at house, daycare closed, car issue, doctor appointment etc. The Retirement Services Consultant at One North Capitol is responsible for the management and delivery of services leading to the education, engagement and support of INPRS members at all stages of work life and retirement readiness. This includes delivery of workshops, group presentations, special event participation, individual counseling, and special INPRS initiatives. Essential Duties: • Manages the delivery of products and services that foster INPRS member engagement, education, and plan knowledge., • Collaborates with others to successfully implement member engagement, education product plans, including collateral development and product delivery., • Participates in department’s quality monitoring and assurance structure with goals, objectives and response data., • Consults with members and key stakeholders regarding INPRS’ various defined benefit and defined contribution plans and the role those plans play in retirement planning, engagement and preparation via webinars and in-person., • Conduct in-person events including, but not limited to:, • County Nurses Conference per IDOH schedule (1-2 times per year), • State of Indiana Onboarding per SPD schedule, • Indiana Gaming Commission Onboarding (EG&C), • Statehouse Market per SPD schedule, • Departmental projects including, but not limited to:, • Inactive Member Project, • New Hire/Rehire Outreach, • Exceptional public speaking skills in a variety of settings., • Exceptional interpersonal communication and counseling skills., • Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, research and data analysis skills, and time management., • Flexibility to deal with frequent changes in work assignments and schedules, including up to 80 percent travel and work outside normal business hours., • A thorough knowledge of state and federal legislation, rules and regulations governing INPRS and the retirement services industry., • High level of coordination with other individuals and teams within the organization both verbally and in writing., • Ability to create positive working relationships., • Strong written communication skills, including the ability to produce correspondence, reports, speeches and other types of presentations as required., • Strong teamwork orientation and an ability to work independently, • Thorough understanding of defined contribution and defined benefit retirement plans and their roles in individual retirement preparation., • Thorough understanding of retirement readiness and planning., • Demonstrated ability to persuade individuals to engage in retirement preparation., • Ability to master the complexities of multiple retirement plans, while simplifying that complexity for members and stakeholders., • Critical thinking skills, • Driven to achieve goals individually and as part of team, • Technologically proficient, • Integrity, • Ethical, • Analytical, • Judgment, • Rational, • Organized, • Goal setting, • Maintain confidentiality, • Self-motivation, • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, human resources, communication or education., • 3-5 years of experience in retirement /financial education and counseling, communicating and/or presenting complex financial concepts to customers., • Competitive compensation, • Flexible Work Schedule, • Healthcare coverage (medical / dental / vision), • Health savings account with employer contribution, • Prescription coverage, • Employer funded retirement plan (pension plan), • Deferred compensation plan (employer and/or employee contribution plan), • Flexible spending account, • Work/life balance (37.5 hours weekly), • 12 paid holidays; 14 during election year, • Paid leave (personal, sick, vacation), • Tuition reimbursement, • Professional credential reimbursement, • Group life insurance Equal Employment Opportunity: The Indiana Public Retirement System (INPRS) is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to recruit, select, develop, and promote employees based on individual ability and job performance.
