JOB SUMMARY: The Warehouse Operations Manager will deliver goals that support strategic corporate objectives. This position is ultimately responsible for the on-time production, installation, removal and profitability of client work orders through the management of our warehouse, inventory, shipping & receiving, field operations, production, and maintenance teams. The Warehouse Operations Manager must be able to direct activities, schedule jobs, and organize the workflow in a lean and flexible manner to meet both financial goals and quality standards. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: • Immediate goals are to: meet production deadlines; maintain high quality and service levels while managing profitable growth; develop policies and practices to ensure continuous improvement in all areas and to provide immediate leadership for department managers, supervisors and crew., • Develops and directs programs to ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation and utilization of company facilities, equipment and asset, • Develops and implements accurate operating budgets for all operations departments in coordination with the Chief Operating Officer., • Meets operations financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions., • Provides leadership in the financial performance of operation., • Achieves operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends., • Develops operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements; developing, implementing, enforcing, and evaluating policies and procedures; developing processes for receiving product; equipment utilization and storage, inventory management, shipping, and warehouse organization., • Develops facility design by planning layout, product flow, and product handling systems; evaluating and recommending new equipment., • Develops operations system improvements by analyzing process workflow, manning and space requirements, and equipment layout and implements changes., • Develops and implements operational workflow that clearly defines the roles and responsibilities of its management, supervisory and crew labor., • Develops, implements, and improves standard operating procedures (SOPS) to ensure the execution of operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials and inventory accuracy, and driving active safety programs., • Candidate must able to develop work plans to ensure appropriate staffing (allocation of labor force) levels while managing overtime in a way that takes into consideration P&L, work-life balance, and the need to always meet the expectations of the customer., • Organizes, holds, and attends daily Operations, Production, Sales, and internal department meetings – essentially daily shift start meeting including the use of the communication board for special assignments, etc., • Develops, implements, and directs programs to ensure the safety of all personnel, equipment and property. Ensure a culture of safety throughout the organization by following safety policies and procedures – monitor safety, physical security and operational metrics on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis., • Accomplishes Operations human resources objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures., • Plans long-range labor needs based on customer sales forecasts and internal projects., • Identifies, assesses and pursues continuous improvement opportunities and makes recommendations to senior management on programs that improve operational efficiency., • Inventory control/management – ensures current and accurate inventory control for each area in the warehouse; directs the inventory lead and contributes to the development, implementation and direction of programs to ensure inventory and asset security., • Works with Production, Maintenance, and Fabrication department managers to develop smooth flow of finished goods into the warehouse for both shipping and storage – identifies issues and provides suggested improvements., • Oversees a staff of managers, supervisors, and labor crew in a 24/7 environment, able to work a flexible schedule and ability to be on call at various times. Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays., • Recommends capital expenditures to ensure efficient ongoing operations., • Ensures 100% compliance with all government regulations and company policies., • Reports operational and IT issues., • Team Leadership: Builds and encourages a positive teamwork environment, develop team and individuals and manage achievements and recognition., • Integrity: Demonstrates responsible, ethical and honest behavior in all roles, tasks and responsibilities; models anchor principles and values., • Problem Solving: Reacts quickly and appropriately to problems; follows-up in a timely manner to issues not immediately resolvable; ties all loose ends., • Performance and Result Orientation: Drives performance in a way that takes into consideration multiple and sometimes competing priorities, keeping goal in sight and reaching agreed results., • Customer Driven: Creates a customer-focused environment in which excellent service is provided to all customers; sees business through the eyes of a customer, reacts quickly and flexibly to ever evolving customer demands., • Gets Things Done: Motivates self and others to accomplish important objectives despite a complex environment and multiple demands; creates a sense of urgency; delegates appropriately., • Communicates Effectively: Communicates clearly and concisely with all audiences; keeps others informed and listens carefully to input and feedback; adapts messages to fit audience., • 3 -5 years of management experience, managing productivity and labor planning in a high volume, fast-paced, distribution environment., • Bachelor’s degree in business discipline or logistics preferred., • Strong operational background with a track record of continuous improvement., • Excellent leadership skills, having the ability to direct a group and to engage together in the process of developing, sharing, and moving towards the company’s strategic vision., • Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship; demonstrating a commitment to teamwork., • Must be hardworking and self-motivated., • Strong personal character and integrity., • Ability to multi-task and interface at all levels of management., • Ability to continuously stand, sit, or walk., • Ability to bend, squat, climb, crawl, kneel, crouch and lift frequently., • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50lbs., • Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less)., • Ability to use hands/fingers to feel or handle various types of equipment., • Noise level is frequently moderate to heavy.
