The Test Security Specialist safeguards the fairness and integrity of the testing experience by investigating potential test‑day irregularities and making evidence‑based decisions in accordance with program policies. This role conducts detailed analyses, collaborates with internal and external partners—including General Counsel—and determines whether scores should be released, questioned, or canceled. The Specialist also serves as a key liaison to test takers, vendors, and program teams on matters related to test security.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESInvestigations & Analysis • Investigate test irregularities by reviewing documentation, test‑day reports, video footage, and interviews with test center staff and other sources., • Conduct photo, voice, and/or handwriting comparisons to identify questionable scores., • Gather, verify, and synthesize all relevant information to determine the appropriate course of action., • Document all investigative steps and outcomes within internal case‑management systems.Data & Tools, • Use business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to analyze cases, identify trends, and assess performance patterns., • Partner with Technology teams by participating in UAT testing, regression testing, and creating/updating JIRA or Confluence documentation.Communication & Stakeholder Collaboration, • Communicate regularly with test takers, parents, attorneys, institutions, test center staff, and proctors while maintaining confidentiality and sound judgment, especially regarding sensitive or legally significant information., • Serve as the primary liaison between ETS and test takers or representatives regarding irregularities, policies, and resolution pathways., • Collaborate with remote proctoring vendors on case resolution and continuous improvement efforts., • Work closely with General Counsel, Appeals, Program Directors, Customer Care, and Assessment Development to evaluate new information and determine next steps.Additional Responsibilities, • Conduct test center audits or administer retests as needed to ensure compliance with test administration policies., • Support special projects, new initiatives, and the development of reports, job aids, or process improvements., • Adhere to all policies and procedures established by programs, GCO, and OTI leadership., • Maintain the highest ethical standards and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. #LI-AK1 KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, • Ability to manage high volumes of work and problem-solve across multiple tasks/projects concurrently., • Analytical skills are necessary to quickly understand and act on data., • Conflict resolution skills are necessary for fast place work environment., • Proficient in MS Office Suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, SharePoint, • Adaptability to change., • Ability to work independently and collaboratively at a fast pace. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required., • 2+ years of relevant work experience, • Extensive customer service experience needed., • Develop a working knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of internal stakeholders., • Investigative mindset to look beyond the easy answer and gather data through research or interviews to support the work process. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
