Job DescriptionJob Title: Maintenance Mechanic Job Description As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will ensure the safe and proper operation of all equipment, including trailers, heavy equipment, and hydraulics. You will follow preventative maintenance schedules, maintain equipment records, and ensure compliance with OSHA, ANSI, and related regulations. Responsibilities • Ensure all equipment operates safely and correctly, including maintenance of trailers, heavy equipment, and hydraulics., • Follow preventative maintenance schedules and ensure all scheduled maintenance tasks are completed., • Maintain detailed equipment records, including costs associated with each piece of equipment., • Communicate with the team about inventory of specific parts to minimize downtime., • Ensure compliance with all trailer inspections and repairs according to regulations., • Follow all OSHA and ANSI regulations., • Sample boiler water to ensure it operates within the recommended range., • Lock and tag out any unsafe equipment until repairs are completed., • Assist in maintaining an inventory log of parts to avoid overstock., • Receive approval for all capital expenditures for plant projects to keep an accurate budget., • Collaborate with operators, bed foremen, and production personnel to identify and resolve equipment issues, making the concrete pouring process easier., • Maintain good public relations with vendors, outside contractors, and other companies.Essential Skills, • 3+ years of experience as an equipment mechanic or diesel maintenance mechanic., • Mechanically inclined with strong management and communication skills., • Minimum High School Diploma or GED equivalent; a 2-year degree is a plus.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs., • Capability to crawl, climb ladders, and work long hours., • Comfortable working outdoors year-round in various weather conditions.Why Work Here? This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carlisle, Iowa. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carlisle, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
