We are now seeking a results-driven, safety- and sustainabilityfocused General Manager to join our Oakland Operations. Position Summary The Hydrogen Vehicle Operation Manager plays a pivotal leadership role in directing all Oakland-based drayage operations. This position oversees the Admin and Operations staffs to ensure operational efficiency, profitability, and adherence to company standards. The Manager leads strategic planning, ensures regulatory compliance, and drives a culture of safety, service excellence, and sustainability. The GM owns the sites P&L, sets strategy and KPIs, drives a safety-first culture, and partners with senior leadership to scale clean-energy drayage. Responsibilities & Essential Functions 1. Leadership & Strategy • Act as site leader for OAK: set objectives, allocate resources, run weekly/monthly ops reviews., • Own site P&L: budgeting, forecasting, lane profitability, pricing input, overhead control., • Serve as escalation for key accounts, service failures, and recovery plans; maintain executive-level customer relationships., • Drive TMS/ELD/telematics adoption, SOP standardization, and continuous improvement (Kaizen/5S in shared areas). 2. Operations & Dispatch • Run dispatch: load assignment, route planning, ETAs, real-time monitoring, exception management., • Manage appointment setting, port PINs, and gate access; ensure accurate container/chassis/fleet tracking., • Publish daily/weekly reports (on-time %, turns, dwell, empty miles, utilization) with corrective actions. 3. Safety & Compliance • Own driver safety program and DQ files (MVR, medical card, CDL, TWIC); ensure audit readiness., • Monitor ELD/HOS compliance; investigate incidents; close CAPAs; lead weekly safety/toolbox talks., • Ensure adherence to DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, CARB/air-quality, and port terminal rules. 4. Fleet Readiness & Maintenance • Plan PM schedules, inspections, and repairs with vendors/OEM; manage downtime and parts/loaners., • Track pre-/post-trip defects; open/close work orders; verify repair quality and documentation. 3483 Satellite Blvd, Suite 101S, Duluth, GA 30096 5. Admin/Finance Coordination, • Oversee Admin (Sr.) Specialist on AR/AP, billing accuracy, driver settlements, timekeeping & payroll inputs., • Support month-end close (journals, accruals, reconciliations); maintain DSO and billing quality targets. 6. People & Culture • Directly manage Operations Specialists/Dispatchers and Admin (Sr.) Specialist: hiring support, coaching, performance management, scheduling., • Coordinate after-hours/on-call rotations; run daily huddles; foster a safety-first, data-driven culture. 7. Other • Represent Oakland in cross-functional initiatives; perform other duties as assigned by the COO. Job Qualifications & Requirements • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management, • 15+ years of direct operational experience in transportation/drayage/intermodal, incl. port-terminal environment, • Demonstrated P&L ownership; strong analytical and financial planning capability., • Proven success leading DOT/FMCSA/OSHA compliance programs; familiarity with CARB and local port regs., • Expertise with TMS, ELD, GPS/telematics, and KPI dashboards; data-driven decision making., • Exceptional stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills. Safety & Compliance • DQ file currency (no expired items): 100%, • ELD/HOS violations: 0.5 per driver-month, • Preventable DOT-recordable incident rate: 1.0 per million miles, • Weekly toolbox/safety talk completion: 100% 3. Fleet & Maintenance • PM on-time completion: 95%, • Road breakdowns causing service failure: 2 per 100k miles, • Critical repair cycle time (to release): 48 hours, • Equipment availability (ready for dispatch): 95% 4. Financial & Admin • Branch gross margin (aggregate): 10%, • Billing first-pass accuracy (no credit/rebill): 99%, • Budget variance (monthly OPEX vs. plan): within 3
