INSIDE SALES SUPPORT ASSOCIATE POSITION SUMMARY The Inside Sales Support Associate at PTR is a customer-first, growth-oriented role designed for someone looking to build a strong foundation in sales. This position combines customer service, administrative sales support, and hands-on exposure to outbound prospecting and sales tools. You'll work closely onsite with the Sales Team and Territory Managers to help grow the business while learning sales fundamentals through coaching, shadowing, and real-world experience. This is an ideal role for someone looking to break into a sales career or grow into a more advanced sales position over time. RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide outstanding customer service with a proactive and positive attitude, • Support the Sales Team and your assigned Territory Manager with customer communication, quoting, scheduling, and follow-up, • Learn the sales process through job shadowing, coaching, and ongoing training, • Assist with lead qualification and prospecting within assigned territories, • Gather information on potential customers and help build a strong sales pipeline, • Help prepare for and follow up after trade shows and customer visits (some travel required), • Enter and maintain meticulous customer information and notes in CRM systems, • Coordinate with internal teams (Logistics, Credit, etc.) to ensure smooth rental and return experiences, • Help onboard new customers and guide them through the rental process, • Be open to coaching, feedback, and continuous learning to support sales growth, • This is a 9-12 month program, with training and gates along the way, with the plan of successful graduation to an Inside Sales Representative position, • We have three regions, East, Central, and West; you will be asked to cover a region of need, which could fluctuate and be 7am to 4pm, or as late as 11am to 8pm. REQUIREMENTS MUST HAVE • 2+ years of customer service, inside sales, or account support experience — or a degree and strong desire to learn sales, • Excellent communication skills — clear, friendly, and professional, • Tech-savvy and comfortable using CRM systems, email, Excel, and LinkedIn, • Self-motivated, curious, and eager to grow in a dynamic environment, • Organized and detail-oriented, able to handle multiple tasks at once, • Positive attitude and willingness to learn from mentors and teammates, • Able to work full-time onsite at our Fort Wayne, IN or Fort Worth, TX office, • Ability to travel occasionally for training, trade shows, and team events (quarterly or as needed) NICE TO HAVE • Previous experience in rental, trucking, construction, or equipment industries, • Experience using Salesforce or other CRM platforms, • Familiarity with sales lead generation tools such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, Apollo, etc., • Existing relationships or knowledge of customers in key commercial or industrial sectors, • Willingness to relocate in the future for a field-based role, • A long-term interest in sales, customer relationships, and business development EMPLOYEE BENEFITS Wellness & Fitness: Take advantage of our on-site CrossFit-style gym, featuring a full-time personal trainer dedicated to helping you reach your fitness goals.
