The Position Summary: The Educational Facilitator plays a critical role in engaging young learners and their families through dynamic, hands-on educational experiences at the museum. This position is responsible for delivering high-quality programs that inspire curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning. While your primary responsibility will be to deliver engaging, museum floor-based programming that enhances the guest experience, this includes the Museum's Be a Maker (BAM) exhibit and delivering on-site programming to support additional exhibit spaces within the Museum, Fork Farms, special holiday activities and programming, and the traveling exhibit programming. This role will also serve as a vital member of the Education Team, welcoming and supporting field trip groups, and driving and facilitating the Wonder Wagon and other community-based outreach programs across the greater Milwaukee area. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, interactive environment, is passionate about child development and informal education, and is excited to connect children and families with meaningful learning experiences both in the museum and beyond. This position is responsible for spending approximately 85% of their time on the museum floor, delivering programs that advance the Museum’s mission and create engaging, memorable guest experiences. Key Responsibilities: • Under the guidance of the leadership team, strategically develop and align all floor-based programming with the Museum’s mission, values, brand identity, and educational goals., • Oversee the following programs, including but not limited to: BAM, Fork Farms, special holiday activities and programming, and the traveling exhibit program. Responsibilities include goal setting, data tracking and monitoring, qualitative and quantitative program evaluation, and expense and revenue budget management., • Manage onsite programming in BAM, ensuring the space is well-maintained, stocked with supplies, and ready for facilitated programs., • Facilitate guest programming in BAM as scheduled., • Collaborate with the leadership team to design, develop, and implement engaging educational programs and activities for guests of all ages., • Deliver dynamic, floor-based programs and interactive experiences, including daily programs, field trips, special events, and community outreach., • Facilitate inclusive, welcoming, and developmentally appropriate programs that actively engage children and families., • In collaboration with the Director of Guest Experience and internal teams to coordinate logistics, manage capacity, and ensure seamless booking processes and positive guest experiences., • Collaborate closely with Museum staff across departments to ensure programs are well-integrated, aligned, and supported., • Oversee program budgets, monitor and track expenses, and manage data collection and evaluation for all programs., • Maintain organized inventories of program materials and supplies., • Evaluate, track, and report on attendance, performance metrics, guest engagement, and feedback to assess program impact., • Be cross-trained in all educational programs to provide support or fill in as needed., • Facilitate programs that actively engage children and families, fostering an inclusive, welcoming, and developmentally appropriate learning environment., • Collaborate with leadership to continuously refine program content, ensuring alignment with educational standards and museum objectives., • Operate and drive the Museum’s Wonder Wagon and/or outreach van for off-site programs and represent the organization in community outreach initiatives as needed., • Respond promptly to emergency situations to ensure the safety and well-being of our guests., • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development, or a related field., • Bilingual in Spanish is highly preferred, • Two years of experience teaching or facilitating with children aged 0-10., • Valid and clean driving record and comfortable driving the Wonder Wagon, • Must be able to work flexible hours, including early mornings or evenings as needed, • Positive, can-do attitude with a strong commitment to providing exceptional service to museum visitors, participants, and community partners., • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to several hours) in a fast-paced, public-facing environment, and ability to navigate busy, loud, or stimulating environments., • Maintain high energy, enthusiasm, and approachability throughout the day, even during repetitive tasks or quieter periods., • Ability to engage young children at various developmental stages with warmth, clarity, and energy., • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with children, families, colleagues, and diverse community partners., • Understanding of developmental milestones and age-appropriate educational strategies to create engaging, play-based learning experiences for early learners through school-aged children., • Effective classroom/group management skills, with the ability to guide groups of 30+ children, maintain safety, and promote positive behavior., • Strong organizational and time-management skills for coordinating schedules, materials, budgets, and event logistics., • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to resolve logistical issues and participant needs quickly and effectively., • Experience tracking and analyzing participation data, evaluating program effectiveness, and completing reports such as surveys and grant-related evaluation metrics., • Skilled in managing multiple responsibilities, such as program delivery, inventory management, budget tracking, and data collection, to ensure efficient operation., • Strong ability to quickly resolve issues related to logistics, participant needs, or unforeseen challenges, ensuring smooth program delivery., • Ability to track and analyze participation data, evaluate program effectiveness, and complete required reporting, such as participant surveys and grant evaluation metrics.
