Details\n \n • 30-bed CVICU within a Level II Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center, Magnet-designated facility\n, • Patient population includes post-op cardiac surgery (CABG, TAVR/TMVR, valve repairs, heart transplants, pacemakers), thoracic surgery (esophagectomy, pneumonectomy, lobectomy), and vascular surgery (AAA, TVAR, carotid endarterectomy)\n, • RN patient ratios of 1:1, 1:2 for regular ICU status, or 1:3 for mixed status; tech ratio 1:8-10\n, • 12-hour night shift schedule, 7p-7a, with 36 or 48-hour contract options\n, • Weekend rotation every other weekend\n, • No on-call or call-back requirements\n, • Floating required to ED Holding, other ICUs (MRICU, SICU, CICU, Neuro ICU), MSU (1:3 ratio), Sitter duty, and PACU Surge\n, • Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, and GE monitors\n Requirements\n \n, • Active WI or compact RN license required\n, • BLS and ACLS certifications required; CCRN preferred\n, • Minimum 3 years of ICU experience with at least 1 year of CVICU experience required\n, • Competency in invasive line monitoring (Swan Ganz, a-lines), pacemakers (epicardial, transvenous), chest tubes, cardiac medications (inotropes, vasopressors, sedation/paralytics), ventilator/trach management, and cardiac rhythm interpretation required\n, • CV surgical experience (ECMO, CVVH, IABP, VAD) preferred\n, • Epic EMR experience required\n, • RN performs draws from invasive lines only; peripheral sticks are not permitted for RNs\n, • At least one professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN\n, • Candidate's middle name/initial, date of birth, and last 4 of SSN required for consideration\n Additional Information\n \n, • Support team includes a charge nurse (rarely with a patient assignment), 24/7 HUC, dedicated CVICU intensivist, on-call CT surgeon, onsite hospitalist, general intensivist, and dedicated ICU respiratory therapist\n, • Bedside and nurses station telemetry monitoring available, with no dedicated tele tech\n, • Phlebotomy team assists with peripheral blood draws\n, • Orientation consists of 1 day, including 2-4 hours of NEO with a supervisor or nurse educator, followed by unit placement with a preceptor\n, • Holiday coverage of 1-2 holidays per contract required\n, • Up to 7 days of RTO can be approved per contract\n, • Facility follows a fatigue policy limiting staff, including travelers, to no more than 60 hours per week or 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts\n, • Scrubs must be a solid, professional color with no graphics, logos, or designs\n, • Free parking available, including shuttle service for day shift and an attached parking structure for night shift\n, • First-time travelers considered if minimum experience requirements are met\n, • Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius restrictions\n, • Former employees of the health system or its subsidiaries must have been separated for at least 12 months to be eligible\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-751398.
